Morning Sickness... - Kansas City,MO

This is my 2nd pregnancy so I know what to expect and all that. With my first I was sick 24/7 for 6 weeks. So sick I couldn't even move some days. This time the nausea is just mainly unpleasant and it of course subsides for awhile after I eat. The problem is that a few hours after dinner I start getting sick b/c my stomach is getting a little empty so I eat something. Something little and light b/c I know I'm going to bed in an hour or so. But every single night I do this I get sooo uncomfortable. My stomach feels painfully full and just awful. AND I have heartburn almost all day. And I'm only a few weeks along. Ugh, does anyone have any suggestions? I hope this doesn't last the whole pregnancy.

What can I do next?

Try a protein shake instead. The protein will satisfy the hunger without making your stomach feel full. Hope you feel better soon!

I think that empty feeling goes along with pregnancy, or it did with some of mine. I hope you find something that helps the heartburn. You may want to mention it to your doctor as it probably will be a problem later too.

Try sleeping upright (chair with Ottoman or on the sofa)

Good luck!

I would eat a yogurt and /or an apple before bed and then take my prenatal vitamins. It was not so heavy but just enough. When I was feeling really sick during the day , I would eat something but wait about 20 mins to have my water. It really helped. Also, I could eat bread (crusty not sandwich) but not crackers, they made me sick . Hang in there and keep trying to find out what works for you ! Remember that morning sickness is a sign of a healthy pregnancy=0)
