My friend is leaving for Disneyworld on Monday . I know lots about Disney but nothing about the party except for its fun and the kids trick or treat. Any tips for the event ? Also , what other happenings are going on during that time at other parks . Thank you girls !

FYI Geebers is talking about Mickey's Halloween Treat which is in California at Disneyland. I have been to that one and we had an amazing time. The one at Disneyworld is a little bit different and I have not been. What I do know is that the characters are dressed up for halloween and you can see lots of villans around. There is a special firework show and a special parade that are exclusive to the event. As far as I know those shows are different to each coast as well. The park is more halloween looking more festive and they add lighting effects. Also tickets are more limited than during the day so there are less crowds.

Mickey's Not-So-Scary Halloween Party allows guests to trick-or-treat while immersed in the fantasy of the Magic Kingdom. The evening includes Mickey's "Boo-to-You" Halloween Parade; trick-or-treating throughout the Magic Kingdom at numerous locations; and the special Happy HalloWishes fireworks. Lots of characters are out in the park, wearing their favorite costumes -- you're encouraged to wear yours too. The party runs from 7 p.m. to midnight; Mickey's "Boo-to-You" Halloween Parade is at 8:15 and 10:30 p.m. with the Happy HalloWishes fireworks at 9:30 p.m.

We wanted to do this but realized what was the point. If you enjoy costumes everywhere and long lines to trick or treat for candy in addition to long lines in the rides ( they are separate ) then it may be for them. I see lots of people go in and go out and then head to CA adv because it is a crazy crazy night. I would buy tickets online in chance they will be full and you can do it when they arrive.

the cost is like entering the park all over again twice in one day I think.

There are some rides open along with character dance parties, Halloween parade, fireworks and a villain’s show in front of the castle. It is not as busy as a regular day so the lines are very short (20 minutes max) and they have characters out that are not usually around on regular visits (including some villain’s).
We go every year and to us it is worth the extra cost. I have never gone on Halloween night because I am sure that night is very busy. The last night is Nov. 2nd so they should be able to choose another night.

The other Disney parks don’t have Halloween parties. SeaWorld and Legoland have family Halloween parties during regular hours. Universal has select nights but I DO NOT recommend for young children. Universal has The Walking Dead and some other really scary stuff and they warn to not bring children under the age of 13.
