Medieval Times - Worth It?

I found some discount tickets for Medieval Times and am wondering if it is worth it. We have never gone because the closest one is 2 hours away, plus the cost of being there. But I imagine the experience is worth it.

Have you been? Is it worth the cost? Did the kids LOVE it?

What can I do next?

So What Happened?

Great!! Thank you! My kids are 5, almost 7, and almost 9. We'll hold off another year or so then and go then!

Scratch that! We're going to go! The deals are just too good to pass up and I've been wanting to do it for YEARS.

Thanks for the heads up on the junk. My kids already know not to ask - poor things! LOL. We don't buy stuff because we get tons of pictures and have the memories...we have too much stuff as it is.

Changed plans again! They raised the prices, stsill discount, but a lot more. And I can't stomach paying $200 for 5 people! So we may save that for a vacation sometime :).

I really enjoy Medieval Times, but when I was older. If your kids are 8 and over, they will likely have a great time. It's not as fun when you're younger then that.

Older kids will likely have a good time. We went when SD was 10, I think, and I think she got a huge crush on our jouster! It was fun, but not something I'd want to do all the time. If you have a discount, why not make a mini vacation out of it?

Hubs went for his bachelor party. He, and his party of 15 (men and women both), thought it was a funny good time.

I loved it. I went to the one in SoCal. My wife didn't care so much for it but my married kids loved it too.

My wife and I have been to two different ones. Loved them both. The last time was about 5 years ago. I don't know if they have changed in the last 5 years. I hope you enjoy.

BTW, they have all kinds of discounts.

Good luck to you and yours.

We went to one in Atlanta last year when my son was 7 and my daughter 10. They both loved it and really got into it. I thought it was fun and it was a riot watching my kids. Each section is assigned a knight and you are encouraged to boo the others. My son thought that was great. The food was better than I was expected. And after the show, the knights were in the lobby for pictures. I didn't know what to expect going into it, but it was a really fun night.

It depends on what you want to get out of it. They REALLY push the marketing there (ie when you get there you "hang out" in the lobby area where they have the gift shop until they open the doors and they "recommend" you get there early) then they have people selling stuff throughout the show and the stuff they sell is junk and not inexpensive-your kids WILL want it. The show itself is fun for the kids and worth doing once for the experience, but after that you can say been there done that and never do it again unless you find a great Groupon.

I'm glad you decided to get the cheap tix. it's worth it to go at least once. Probably at the one in Arudel Mills Mall? I cheated and brought a plastic spoon for my daughter, she was 4 when we went and did not want to slurp her soup. :)
Have a great time! Also since you're in DC, there's a big fun Rennaisance Faire in Maryland every summer.
www.rennfest.com
It has the jousting and human chess and lots of other fun plays, plays for kids and TONS of GREAT food! It starts Aug 25, maybe that's not too far from you it's near Annapolis. My daughters like to go dressed in their fairy or princess dress up clothes.
There is admission and you can pack your own food and bring it in but the food their is crazy tempting like everything on a stick, steak on a stick, porkchops on a stick, mac n cheese on a stick etc. The huge turkey legs(yummy). Anywhoo getting hungry now....
