May Be TMI Question... but I Really Need to Ask!

It's that time of the year when things are really starting to heat up. I work in a werehouse and my office can get really hot during the late spring, early summer. I've have a window air-conditioner that does little to no good because my office window faces south and has dirrect sun all day. I normally sweat it out (literally) but this year I'm pumping at work and am not looking forward to the sweating while pumping.

Do any of you ladies have awesome technics to beat the heat and minimize the "boob sweat" and "butt sweat" while sitting at the computer all day?

What can I do next?

So What Happened?

Thanks so much for the great suggestions. I never thought about using those silver emergency blankets. What a brilliant idea!! I'm going to try the cold packs on my lower back/kidneys as well. I've tried the power idea before but by the end of the day I had sweat so much that I was left with powder caked on my skin. Gross...I know. So I wanted new ideas. I may still try it with the other suggestions though... just to cover all the bases. Thanks again ladies!!! I have new hope for staying cool this summer!!! :D

I do a swipe of deoderant under each boob before putting on my bra. I do love the warm weather but not the sweat. Ugh!

Put deodorant/antiperspirant there.

Or use breast pads in your bra. The same kind used for nursing Moms.
It does not make your boobs look markedly bigger. It is just thin pads.
It will absorb the sweat.

Or yes, baby powder.

A Fan? or several in the office.
Maybe your Boss can get it.
Or bring your own.

Or, put window blinds on those windows that the sun comes into.
Direct sun all day, and you being inside... does get hot.
An interior, gets heated up a lot more, than being outside.
The interior, catches the heat and it has nowhere to escape. Thus the heat, builds up. And it is not healthy.
A person can overheat too.

I would tell your Boss.
He/she should get window blinds or fans for the office staff.

Cover that window! The ideal solution for a south facing window is to build an overhang on the outside that will block direct sunlight in the summer but allow lower angled sunlight to come in in the winter. Second best way is to have blinds on the outside so the sun doesn't even hit the window. Seriously can you ask your company to install something to block the hot summer sun? It might even save them money since using AC can run up their energy bill.

You have to reduce the heat coming in.

Feel the wall that is facing the south. If it is warm or hot to the touch, then you have an insulation problem. If it is a warehouse and the south facing wall isn't where the public or your customers can see it, ask the boss if you can put something to reflect the sun or insulate the wall or something of that nature. A oneway mirror placed on the outside of the window will reflect a lot of the sun and allow you to see out.

Go to Home Depot and brain storm with the guy where they sell insulation.

Good luck to you and yours.

Cover your window! Those blankets that where suggested would probably be the best bet. Then bring in a fan or two, and it should really lower the temp for you!

I have a mini desk fan and hold it in my face when I feel like dying of heat. I also dust baby powder in my panties in the morning and wear a thin liner if it's really bad. Keep some baby wipes at your desk and take a swipe inside your bra when nobody's looking once in a while--it will at least cool you down a bit and freshen the smell. I can't help with the sweat there because I know you're not supposed to use deodorant there (and shouldn't when you're pumping), but I also used to dust baby powder under my breasts once in a while. If you can do that and just make sure your nipples are clean when you pump, it might help, too. I find it absorbs the sweat a bit and helps with smells.

I drove a truck at my last job & the summer heat was killing me when I was pregnant & I had a hot gas stove I was serving from Lunch/catering truck)... no escaping heat. I used a rubbing alcohol spray, usually just on my feet, instant cooldown. It was like magic sometimes. The emerg blankets over windows sounds good, and as bad as it sounds, keep the windows closed, so the heat doesnt come in. Is there a way to cover the air conditioner so the heat doesnt beat on it? even a piece of aluminum over it would likely help.

Definitely use baby powder or talcum powder after you shower in the morning. Put cool washcloths on your neck and wrists during the day. Maybe you can also get a personal size fan to keep at your desk.
You could try to convince your employer to upgrade the air conditioning too.
Hope this helps!

I never go a day without my baby powder but be careful to stay away from talc, try to use cornstarch based powers instead. Talc has been linked to cervical cancer.

Would it make you feel any better to know that anatomically speaking milk glands are modified sweat glands?
