Maternity Bras

I was wondering if anybody knows of a good place to buy and get really well fitted for a maternity bra. I am in need of a bigger size, but feel as though I am not sure what my "real" size should be now. I suppose it could be a place that sells regular bras, but the bottom line is I want somebody who is knowledgeable to give me a bra that will fit and support me well. Thanks!

What can I do next?

L.,

I have been having the same problem. I was large to begin with, but now it is crazy. My Doctor sent me to a place called The Maddox Shop. It is located at 130 Casa Linda Plaza (buckner & Garland rd.) Dallas, Texas 75218
The phone number is ###-###-#### They will fit you and custom design if need be. Any of the ladies can help you.

Good Luck,
Jenn

I don't know if you are willing to drive the extra mile but the Maddoxx shop in Casa Linda (east Dallas) is the best place in town. Most people who know of this gem rave about the professional service and selection. I know I always feel better when my bra fits. After kids that is a challenge!

Lady Grace or ladygrace.com is a "real" store that specializes in women's undergarments. You can order online, unfortuanately they are in Massachusetts, but they do give fitting instructions for measuring yourself online: http://ladygrace.com/article.asp?ai=15&name=Fitting%2...

You can get fitted at Presby Plano on the 3rd floor of the main hospital building in their boutique called A Mother's Gift -- it's a baby gift shop but also a nursing lactation consultation place with a full line of nursing bras... you can get fitted for the right size bra there. I will tell you though most of the bras are pricey (about $30), but honestly those are the only ones that have held up nicely and I will be able to use again for my next child. For info about A Mother's Gift, call ###-###-####.

The other cheap nursing bras I bought at Target or Kohl's had to be trashed. Once you know your size, I'd also shop at Motherhood Maternity at your local mall.
I also used a website called ... www.motherwear.com and they have many nice bras too. And nursing blouses that are camoflauged very well! Here's the link to their maternity bras ... http://www.motherwear.com/cat.cfm/cid/52

Too bad Victoria's Secret hasn't jumped on the maternity/nursing bra bandwagon! I'd be buying those bras! Let me know if you need more info....

Hi L.,

Baylor Dallas has a good maternity shop and I know that they have the bras there. I'm sure the ladies there could help you. Of course, the maternity stores would be a good place to go. Also, the Hanes outlets have ladies there who can fit you to one. Hope this helps.

I went to Motherhood in Frisco which They REALLY helped me out A LOT. I have some maternity bras that I have for sell that are from Motherhood they also bigger sizes. I know i will not be using for a while so I would hate for them to go to waste.
They all come from a Extremely Clean, smoke free and pet free home.
Please let me know if interested.
Thanks and Good Luck!

There is a bra shop in Allen at the outlet mall - they had about 3 or 4 different types - measured me up no problem - good prices too.

I agree with several posts that the Maddox shop in Casa L. (Buckener Blvd at Garland Rd)is one of the best. I refer my students and clients to them because they're experienced, take their time, and always put the needs of the woman first.
I highly recommend them.

When I was pregnant, I was fitted at my Doctor's office and the bra ended up being covered by insurance. I don't remember all the details, but it's worth asking about the next time you see your OB GYN.

I love my Bravo bras that I got at the maternity store in Southlake Town Square. They are all cotton and extremely comfy. I bought some others, but they don't even come close in comfort, so I never wear them. The store is close to the container store at the square, and they will measure you. Just make sure you get a salesperson that knows what they are talking about - I was helped by a young girl who didn't know anything, as well as a middle aged woman who was very good.
