We have lived in Craig Ranch for almost 2 years and we love it. My husband is gone quite abit with his job, so most of the time it is just me, the kids and the dog! :-)

Hi, I am a single mom of a 3 year old boy and 6 year old boy. I feel like I am their only friends. My sons love to get in water, but I live in an apartment complex in McKinney and unfortunately, there are a lot of not so lovely hispanic people who live here who use the pool, so I don't take my kids. My oldest son's name is Damon, and the younger is Draven. Damon goes to a daycare for before and after school care, and is also enrolled for the summer, so he can go on all the cool field trips. My youngest goes to a sitter every other week, and then to his grandma's (dad's side) the other weeks. I just got laid off my job of 7 years, and am aggressively searching for work, and quite honestly, am a little afraid about what's gonna happen if I can't find something soon. I don't have really any close friends, and don't get out enough to meet any:( I don't even have any family in state...I had my mom, but she died last year at only 47 years old. I understand! We have a boy turning 4 at the end of September, and one that just turned 2. Since we both work at home, somedays it feels like I'm going to lose my mind if I play another game of hungry hungry hippo or dig any more sand out of my toes.

We are in the busiest month of the year for us, but in July we'd like to try to get out and go to some local activities like the Science Place downtown and the zoo. There's also supposed to be a nice nature walk in McKinney at the nature preserve, but we have yet to make it that, so I don't know if it's worth it or not. I have a few friends in the area with children of a similar age, so if you'd like, I can send you an email when we have a play date.

You should also be close to the Allen library, and they probably have a reading time for his age where you may be able to meet some other kids his age.

I know how it can be sometimes. I work full time too and my daughter had friends at school ,but I thought she was getting bored w/ me on the weekends. All the classes & groups I found were geared to the stay at home moms which is why i started a playgroup of my own. My daughter will be 4 in August and we're in McKinney. Email me for more info.

I live in Allen off of Bethany and Malone. I have a 4 and a 2 year old boys. Do you know about the MOMS Club? It is great I joined when I moved here 3 years ago and I have met some wonderful people. You get placed in play groups and have the option to participate in various activities. Gladys Brown is our membership person ###-###-####).
I would be happy to schedule a playdate too but I just noticed that you lived in Allen and wanted to make you aware that there is a great outlet for mom's in our community. Our membership meeting is June 23rd and you are welcome to join us.

My name is A. and I have 2 sons, Daniel is going to be 4 this month and Bernardo, who is 2 1/2.
We live in Plano, off of Legacy on the east side of 75, but it's close to Allen. We moved here from Brazil at the end of last year, and although we've made some friends, most of the Daniel's playmates are girls or younger boys (mostly Bernardo's age).
My husband works in Dallas and I'm a stay at home mom for the first time, since I moved here, and almost everyday we go out to parks and many different activities.
We could get together for a playdate sometime, if you're interested.

My son recently turned six, but plays well with younger ones. We live in East Plano (Parker & Los Rios) and we also have a pool. My husband and I own a small business, but I have taken the Summer off to play with my boy. He is enrolled in a few day camps this Summer, but has several weeks free, with no planned activities. The only kids in the neighborhood we know are girls, so I am sure my son would welcome the opportunity to play with a little boy. Let me know if you are interested in getting together!

Have you considered the Allen Early Childhood PTA? I'm the volunteer coordinator for playgroups. We have 2 of them and they vary in age. We've got kids upto and exceeding your child's age. You can check out the website: www.aecpta.org. We'll also be sponsoring a booth at the Family First event this Monday evening at the Joe Farmer Rec Center, right off of Bethany and Allen Heights. It's a free music concert every Monday night, but this week, there'll be area sponsors and information about the community...I encourage you to come! Feel free to email me from the AECPTA website.
