Looking for OB/GYN near Twinsburg OH

My husband and I recently started trying to get pregnant, and while we're taking a more relaxed "wait and see" kind of approach I'd still like to start looking into doctors and hospitals. We moved to Twinsburg OH about 5 years ago but none of my friends in the area have been pregnant so I'm at a loss as to where to start looking for an OB/GYN. I'd like a female doctor, preferably a small practice (4 or fewer doctors -- think "Deliver Me" on Discovery Health, haha). Does anyone have suggestions or recommendations for me?

Thanks!

What can I do next?

Dr. Knotek at South Suburban Women's Office on Darrow Rd North of 82 on the right. She is great and her staff is awesome as well. She delivers at Hillcrest.

I highly recommend her. She has been great!!

I know you said you'd like a female. . . . I see Dr. Steven Galun, actually my ENTIRE female family sees him. He practices in Solon. It's his practice but he has 2 or 3 women OB/GYN's that work at his practice. They seem very nice. I read the other posts & Dr. Hruby works with Dr. Galun (she seemed very nice). Dr. Galun delivered both of my girls at Marymount. He also delivers out of Hillcrest. Like I said, I read the other posts & LOVED Marymount, I've heard not so good things about Hillcrest. Either way, you asked for a doctor, not a hospital. Dr.'s Galun & Hruby both deliver out of both hospitals. Good luck!!

I would not deliver at Mary Mount. Most doctors who deliver there deliver at Hillcrest. Pick Hillcrest!! Mary Mount is horrible. Well you can deliver there if you like c-sections. They have one of the highest c-section rates in the Northeast Ohio area. Hillcrest is nicer and it's nicer to visitors.

It's most important that you choose a hospital before you choose a doctor. Most doctors only deliver at certain hospitals and if you don't like the hospital but like the doctor then you are stuck. Go out now and look at the hospitals. If you find a hospital you like then you can start interviewing doctors. Try to find one that has the same ideas about labor and delivery that you do. If you want a more natural experience look at midwives and not doctors. Even once you choose a midwife/doctor don't feel you are stuck. If you don't like them go to another practice. It's important that you and them be on the same page at pre-natals. If your not on the same page at your pre-natal visits what makes you think they will listen to you when you are in labor.

I would recommend Dr. Sandhia Varyani. She has an office at the St. Vincent Medical Center in Solon and also the UH building off of 271-N (Harvard Ave). She is absolutely wonderful! She takes the time to answer all of your questions and if you leave a message for her, she personally will call you back.

I love Dr. Mullen!! She's with Geauga Women's Specialties in Bainbridge. There are three other doctors with this practice and they are all women. I saw each one during my pregnancy; this way I would know my doctor when the time came. :) They all work with Geauga Hospital in Chardon. The nurses there were all wonderful!!! I also enjoyed speaking with the nurses and receptionists at the Bainbridge office. They were always freindly and understanding! Best wishes! This will be the most life changing experience of your life!! Babies are blessings!!

Hi! I also live in Twinsburg. I love my OB/GYN. Her office is out of Solon on Aurora Rd. It takes me 10 minutes to get there from my house. Her name is Dr. Pamela Hruby. She delivers at both Marymount and Hillcrest. Her number is ###-###-####. She delivered both of my babies. My friend, who's a nurse, referred her to me. Then when I took a tour of the hospital before delivering my baby, I asked the nurses about her. She said they are one of the best group of doctors there. She was amazing with both of my babies!

Good Luck! :)
