Looking for Good Patio Set
Okay I could use some eyes and ears, I am looking for a very nice patio set that will last more than one or two years. I don't want to spend a fortune but I know I will pay for a decent set. Any suggestions?
So What Happened?™
Thanks for all your great help I knew I could depend on you all. I took the advice of the majority and went to Sams.....

Like some others said, I've seen some great ones at Sam's this year. You might try www.craigslist.com It's a free online classified for people selling their stuff. You may get lucky that someone has to move and is selling one in great shape.
Good luck!

My husband & I did tons of searching when we moved to St Louis 2 years ago & surprisigly we found the best set for the money at Sams Club. I haven't been here recently so I couldn't say what they have this year, but our set was for both indoor & outdoor use. The body structure is made out of a strong plastic that has the look of wicker. Our set came with a couch, 2 chairs & 2 ottomans along with a table that has a marble top. I think we paid about $1K, maybe a little more, but it was much less than every single other place we went. And we went to as many stores as we could find in both the city and suburbs. You might want to check the paper for a used set (we didn't see anything when we looked); it might be worth checking out. Good luck!

M.,
Not sure how large of a set you are looking for, but Sears has had for many years a 10 piece set that included the table, chairs and also 2 lounge chairs with ottoman's and a litte coffe table. I had this set at my home and just loved it! My current home deck to small for it, so I sold it. Anyway, I found it was very reasonably priced, and held up to all weather, etc. I believe we were able to look at it at the Sears Hardware store, rather than the Sears at the mall.

I went to Seasonal Concepts on Manchester (in Ballwin?). Did they change the name of that place? We've had ours (table, 4 chairs and umbrella, no seat cushions) for about 5 years and it's in great shape. We leave it out all year.

I just went though this myself! After shopping all of the 'seasonal' stores, I decided that I did not want to pay $$$$ for outdoor furniture. I ended up buying a set from Sams' club and I love it. Dining table, chairs, ottomans and rockers. The umbrella was an additional charge. But I could not beat the price! My neighbor bought her set from Sams' over 10 years ago and it still looks great.
Garden Ridge also has some nicer sets at more reasonable prices.
Good Luck!

i love my set. i've had it for 2 years now. http://www.walmart.com/catalog/product.do?product_id=8143974
it looks like it's gone up in price since i purchased it. i treat it 1-2 times a year with teak oil to keep the finish dark and protect the wood.
