I'm looking for a good doctor perferably female to deliver my baby. Also recomendations of good hospitals. I'm 5 months pregnet with my first. I live by Dobson & Baceline, my Docter was too far away and doesn't accept AHCCCS, I'm on Mercy Care. Any advice is welcome.

Do NOT go to Desert Rose OB/GYN with Dr. Huff. I'm sure that he might be a good doctor for some other people, however, my experience with him SUCKED. He runs a very busy office, so therefore doesn't have any one-on-one time for his patients. He took me on in the middle of my second trimester, and I ended up going into early labor. I only had three appointments with him before I went into labor, and I left each of those three fully dissatisfied. Like I said, there was no time spent on me at my appt's. At the first one, he just asked me how I felt about being pregnant and if I had any questions/concerns. I told him that I was pregnant with twins, and that I had a few questions about "high-risk" pregnancies. He looked at me and said "Oh, you're having twins!?!" Well, no duh, it was right there in my file, which means that he didn't even look it over before he came in to see me. Then at my second appointment all he asked me about was my delivery preferences and whether or not I wanted to breastfeed. Then he put a tape measure to my belly to see if I was the right size for how far along I was. He then set me up an appointment for bloodwork, and sent me on my way. Then at my third appointment for the blood work, I had written on my check-in sheet that I was experiencing some lower abdominal pain. He didn't check me out at all, no PAP smear or feel around my belly or anything. He set me up an appointment for an ultrasound, and again, sent me on my way. Three days later, I went into spontaneous labor because my son had his umbilical cord tied in a complete knot. My twins were delived at 28 weeks and spent three months in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit. Now they face all of the challenges of being 12 weeks premature that they have to deal with for the rest of their lives. At my 2 week follow-up appointment with Dr. Huff all he did was ask me if I had any post-partum depression, and if I wanted to get on birth control. I was literally in and out in 3 minutes (with 15 minutes of waiting). The at my six week follow up, I checked in at 12:02pm and was taken back at 12:14pm. The nurse took my blood pressure and my weight, then led me to a room where I got undressed and put on that little gown thingy. Dr. Huff came in and asked me how I was feeling. Then a nurse cam in and he had me lay back for a PAP smear that took literally a minute and actually kinda hurt. He was talking to the nurse the whole time about her Halloween plans and didn't even hear me say ow! Then when he was done, he said, "That's it, I'll see you in a year." I then got dressed and left. When I walked out the door, it was literally 12:22pm. EXACTLY 20 MINUTES FOR MY SIX WEEK CHECK-UP!!! I couldn't believe it. So I absolutely DO NOT recommend Dr. Huff from Desert Rose. However, I think that they are one of the very few who contract with Mercy Care, so just be careful, and if you DO get assigned to him, request someone else.

My OB is in Gilbert, Gilbert and Guadalupe. If thats not too far look up Dr. Kudlinski, at Women's Comprehensive Health Care. She delivered both of my babies at Desert Samaritan in Mesa. They have a Nurse Practitioner there at WCH, that is also female.
Take Care, R.

I also havwe Mercy care. I went to the Women's Center at Banner Baywood. They're located on Power just north of Broadway. They are all men but I was so pleased with the care I received. I've never like male ob's but went here because it was so close. They also have and OB office across the street from banner Mesa hospital at Country Club and Brown. The phone # is ###-###-####. Two of the DRs are Dr. Colleen and Dr. Gomez.
