Hello all I am looking for some help.. My son is turning 2 in dec. and he wants a spiderman party and cake. I like to bake so I want to make his cake my self but I need some help on decorating the cake I have went on line and I can not really find anything. If anyone has make this kind of cake before or knows of a web site that I can go to will be very helpful, I am also looking to do a pricess cake for my daughter in March. I am also looking for a recipe for a frosting. My kids do not like the buttercream and the sweet frosting so I usally make a whipped cream frosting but with that frosting I can not really decorate a cake so I am wondering if anyone knows how to make the non dairy whipped topping like they use on the supermaket cakes. Thanks!!

What can I do next?

I don't know where you are located but Lorraine's Cake Supply in Hanover is great. They have the mix for the whipped topping like the supermarkets. They have cake molds and they can help you with decorating tips. I took cake decorating class there and they are wonderful and have a lot of advice to give. They also have a website but calling or going there is better. www.lorrainescakesupply.com. Wilton's website is also good. Lorraine's sells some of their stuff and so does Michael's craft stores. Good Luck!

Hello! I think I can help you. I make cakes a hobby for friends and family. Everything from Spiderman to wedding cakes. I have actually done the Spiderman cake 4 times. Wilton puts out the gel icing colors in a 4 pack, they also sell the decorator white icing in 5 lb. tubs, and believe it or not the public library has cake pans you can tke out. Also a great place to rent character pans from is Cameo Cake and Candy Supplies on Park Ave in Cranston RI. She will have the icing , boards, piping bags, tips, you need. But also, AC MOORE andMichaels carry these items. Feel free to email me ____@____.com for more info. Ihave the Spiderman pan if you can't find it also. Lizz

I am making a Elmo cake for my dd 2 year party. I did a trial cake first cause I never made one before. It came pretty good and I am glad I practiced so when i make the real cake i know what mistakes not to make.

Anyway, like others said check out wilton.com. Also this is a site where people share pics of the cakes they made.

Hello,
My mother made my son a spiderman cake last year and she got a mold that looked like a tee shirt and made the shirt look like spidermans shirt/ torso and used black licorish to make the webbing. She also uses jello mixed with a little water to paint on the cake instead of using food coloring so she has a little more control when decorating.
Also they make molds for doll/ princes cakes that are 3D. the dress part is the cake and the top part is a dolls body that you can buy at a crafts store. They are really cute. They also make smaller ones (cupcake size) so each girl at the party can have her own princes.
Good Luck!

This website has step by step instructions to make a cake that looks like spidermans face. I don't know where you looked on the internet, but I found that using google- images and keywords spiderman cakes their are a lot of choices. You can make the cake look like a spider web on the top, and add a figure of spiderman and or villians. This way is the easiest where he gets to keep the figures. Try the google images, when you find a picture you like all you do is click it and see if it's what you want. Hope this helps. I know this is what my 6 year old wants when he turns 7 too.

I have done a simple spiderman cake I am not sure what you are looking for. I found those little sugar things with spiderman on them and then I made a web design out from the middle of the cake with black frosting and put them all over the cake. good luck
