Looking for an Excellent Dance School
My daughter has been very dedicated to dancing for the last several years. Her goal is to audition for a preforming arts high school in SF. I was hoping to find an excellent dance school in the SF of Peninsula area, one that can prepare her for her audition. She takes tap, jazz, and hip hop. Any feed back will be much appreciated.

You can try ODC on 17th and Shotwell. They have a wonderful new facility, theater, school, a variety of classes/programs, etc... The ODC Dance Company rehearses/trains there. You can also try San Francisco Dance Center. They have a variety of classes, too. I hope this helps!!

My daughter danced with the Presidio Dance Theater Academy when we lived in SF. It was great for her. She really engaged and took the classes seriously and she was only 4. The only reason we stopped was because we moved to San Jose area.

I don't have a suggestion for a school but if she isn't taking ballet, she should immediately start. As much ballet as possible.

My daughter dances at Tiffany's Dance Academy (one of the east bay locations), but they also have a SF location. Here is a link to the website: http://www.tiffanydance.com/. We love it and they have an excellent "academy" program that is very organized. Good Luck.

Classical ballet is the mother of all dance and a core requirement for a serious dancer. My daughter does 20 hours of ballet a week. I believe Menlo Park Academy of Dance is well known. A good way to find what you are looking for is by calling the schools your daughter would like to attend and see where they take their students from. This is how I found the ballet academy my daughter attends. I called SF Ballet and they told me where they take students from my area for their summer academy. You can also Google dance schools in your area and call them to see if any of their students have gone on to performing art schools.
