Looking for a Non-denominational Christian Church in Mesa/Gilbert Area

We are currently attending a christian church but we feel we are not growing. And unfortunately we sometimes feel discriminated. I have a 1 year old daughter and we are looking for a church that has a good children program. We live in East mesa, the church we go to right now if very casual we do not have to dress up, and they have two services. We really like the pastor and their worship team, but we want to feel welcomed when we go to church not just another body.

What can I do next?

Hi S.,
We go to City of Grace in Mesa. It used to be called Word of Grace. It is on Hobson and University. They have the best program for children too. There are lots of different classes and groups. We have a Saturday night service as well as Sunday. Come and check us out. I promise you will feel welcome.

My church is not non denominational but it is amazing! It is a christian church and Jesus Christ is the center of our worship. If you are willing to try something new they are so great and welcoming. We just moved here recently from NM and the first day we walked in with our 2 yr old and 1 yr old boys everyone was coming up to us and welcoming us and telling us how excited they were for us to be there! It was so nice to kind of feel at home even though I had just moved far away from any family I have. It is great and I look forward to going every week! I feel like I learn and ton! Good Luck with your search if you don't wanna try my church! Here is the website where you can learn anything you want and find the location to the nearest meetinghouse and worship times! I hope everything works out! www.lds.org

I recommend Trinity Christian Fellowship. http://www.tcfchandler.org/
My neighbor goes there and I just think the world of her and all of the people I've met from the church. I go to their family camp (camping up at Lake Mormon) the last few years and have met some really wonderful people. Check it out & good luck!

Hi S.,

We go to Central Christian Church of the East Valley, Gilbert campus at Lindsay and Germann and like it a lot. Non-denom, bible based church, lots of services between this campus and the Mesa campus. Also, a really good childrens program from birth up; we have a 15 month old daughter and 6 yr old son and they each go to their own class during service. They both really enjoy it.

Their website is www.cccev.com if you want to read about their beliefs and kids programs. Good luck. :)

Our church is in Chandler but I think it is well worth the drive. We go to Cornerstone and the kids program is awesome. Really there is something for everyone and great ways to get plugged in. The dress is so relaxed and the music team is great. they have alot of services on Sunday. My family and I have been going for about 3 months and have never felt the Spirit move in our lives like He has since we started going there. We feel so loved there. www.cccev.com Central Christian Church. There are 2 campuses...Lindsay/Germann in Gilbert and Lindsay and Adobe in Mesa. Central is a very large church with 4 services at each campus starting Saturday night to Sunday night. There is tons to do for the whole family and the dress is very casual...come as you are...God doesn't care what you wear :-)We have been attending for 6 years and have met so many wonderful friends and the pastors are absolutely amazing. Check it out online and even listen to a message to get an idea of what you will experience. If you decide to go let me know and I would love to meet you. We go to the Gilbert campus now but used to attend Mesa and they are the same church, same pastors, same everything just 2 campuses.

WOW Church, our family goes to Central Christian Church of the East Valley. We have 2 locations the original location is in Mesa and a new location is Gilbert. Central Christian Church of the East Valley
933 N. Lindsay Rd., Mesa, AZ 85213, ###-###-####
965 E. Germann Rd., Gilbert, AZ 85297, ###-###-####

They offer 8 services from contemporary to very contemporary; the slogan for our church is "This isn't your parent’s church"

Looking for a great children’s program, this would be the church from Sunday and Wednesday activities to sports, small groups, Scouts, helping the homeless, to helping kids at a local park, so many things you couldn’t do it all, just pick and chose the activities you want your children to participate in. You can get as involved or just attend the services, but once you come, you will want to get more involved. Everyone is welcome don’t worry about what you have to wear this church is full of casual and some do dress up, but it’s not about what you wear, it’s what God is doing and this church is having a revival. We have been attending this church since 1988 and God is doing amazing things. Please come this Sunday we just started a new series called For Love or Money. You can look on line at sermons from previous weeks. The website is www.cccev.com

I hope you come and try it for a few weeks.

I hope you will check out East Valley Bible Church on crossroads McQueen and Elliot or their brand new sister church named Second Mile Church located on the ASU Polytechnic Campus in Mesa, AZ. My husband and I visited East Valley Bible Church 7 years ago and knew we had found our church home immediately. They have a lot to offer--fantastic children's ministry for all ages, community based men's ministry, and a vibrant women's ministry where I made some beautiful friendships that I will cherish forever. You can check them out online at www.evbc.org. Best wishes in finding a church that you can call home. R., happily married SAHM midwife mom of 2.

Hi S.! My husband and I go to Sovereign Grace Church at 1280 North Cooper in Gilbert. He is newly on staff and we are SO happy here. We have been so warmly welcomed by everyone here and feel very cared for, both personally and spiritually. If you decide to visit, I highly recommend stopping by the visitor's reception after the service, as you will have the opportunity to meet one or two of the pastor's and other members of the church. You can also check out the church's website to see if you think it is a good fit for your family.

I hope this is helpful! And I hope you'll come and visit the church! =)

God bless,

My husband & I just went through the "looking for a church" process this summer. We found Chandler Christian Church on the east side of Alma School second church south of the 202. It's very friendly and welcoming and WOW what a children's program! You might want to check it out. I don't think you'd be disappointed. There are 4 service times to choose from - http://www.chandlercc.org/times.htm They have a moms group and Bible studies during the week as well as over a 100 small groups for you and your husband to attend during the week. These are great for developing closer relationships with other couples/families.
I will pray for you during this time. Feel free to contact me and let me know how it goes.

Okay you have a ton of responses. Most of them are for big churches so I will add my church which is somewhat smaller. I attend Real Life Christian church. It is about a year old and meets at Williams Field High School. It is a non-denominational church plant. Several of the large churches have just helped start it. If you need more info - let me know. P.S. - the kids program is outstanding.

Hi S.!

Wow, you got a lot of responses! It's so great to see that there are a lot of churches out there where people have found homes! Mine hasn't been mentioned, yet, so I thought I would just mention it because we live in east Mesa, too! My husband and I (and 14month old) go to Red Mountain Community Church (located at Recker/northern 202, north of McDowell). It is Evangelical Free, but "feels" like non-denominational. It's casual and has lots of GREAT Biblical teaching for all ages! I hope you find a church that is a good fit for your family and where you guys can grow in your walks with God. You can find out more information at www.rmcchurch.org.

Oh, just as a side note, we are having our annual "Westernfest" on Sunday afternoon--lots of fun and games for the whole family! Any body is welcome! Again, there is more info, if you want it on our website!

I belong to a christian church that keeps me growing and teaches me more about the Savior. I feel welcome and they have great programs for children, teens, men, and women. There are a lot of chapels in East Mesa, too. Go to mormon.org to see basic beliefs and click on "worship with us" to locate the nearest chapel. Good luck - and welcome!

Hi S.!

I understand that it can be a challenge to find the church that is just right for you and your family. After some shopping around when we moved to Chandler, we are now attending Chandler Christian Church at the 202 and Alma School. Although it is not a small church, they know that feeling connected is very important to our happiness and growth so there are lots of opportunities to serve and to get into small groups as a couple or for men and women. Hope you find someplace that can be your church home!

We currently attend Central Christian Church and we love it! We struggled with finding the right place for us and are so happy. Central has 2 campuses, one in Gilbert (Germann and Lindsay) and one in Mesa (Brown and Lindsay)Over the 2 locations, there are 8 services each weekend and a FABULOUS childrens program. Check out their web site cccev.com or contact me for more information. I would love to meet you there and show you around for your first visit. We are fairly new there too, but feel so at home there (-: Hope this helps.
