Local Playgrounds - Maple Shade,NJ

Hi. I am from Maple Shade and during the warm months my kids and I enjoy going to local playgrounds to enjoy the weather and burn up some energy. I am always looking for new parks to take them to in order to keep them interested. I met a parent at a park today that was telling me about a really nice castle like park in the Barrington area. Is anyone familiar with this park and its location, or can anyone suggest a local park that you enjoy?

What can I do next?

My favorite park is Laurel Acres on Church in Mt. Laurel. It has great play areas for all ages, plus a huge pond in the middle (that you could fish in if interested). My son is 2 and he loves running up this hill that they have that overlooks the entire park. It also has bathrooms and a covered area for eating.

I live in Cherry Hill. I know that on the Cherry Hill website there is a list of all the playgrounds in the town. I'm sure each town has the same website. There is a great park at Cooper River and one on Mainstreet in Voorhees. The biggest problem is finding a great park with a great bathroom! I have often thought about putting together a book or pamphlet or website with local parks. There just isn't a good resource.

Hi!
Two parks my children (ages 6 and almost 5) love are Long Bridge Park and Smithville Park. They may be a little bit of a drive for you, but we like them because they have really nice playgrounds, nature trails, and nice facilities (bathrooms, gazebos and picnic tables, even grills.) Both are on Rte 38 heading toward Mt. Holly. Long Bridge is in Lumberton right near the Mt Holly bypass and the Shop Rite. Smithville is a little further down 38 near the Wal-Mart. Enjoy!

The one in Barrinton is really nice. My favorite is the one around Haddon lake though. It's shaded and the kids can see the ducks ect. I forgot one more is at the Battlefield in National park. It is really nice overlooking the water and their are bathroom facilities there. Beautiful park with a playground and lots of room to have a catch ect, shaded picnic tables for eating lunch.
