Hi JC
What kind of questions do you have? I have some experience in that I am a conditional permanent resident (with a green card), married to an American. I'm not sure that I'm equipped to give you legal advice (it would be better to consult an attorney for that) but could perhaps give answers from my own experience.

Checkout the Heartland Alliance's National Immigrant Justice Center. They have low cost consultation, and I think weekly free phone consultation.

What exactly do you want to know? My husband went through an extremely long and painful process of becoming a US citizen several years ago. He is now a citizen but it took nearly 11 years. We had really unusual circumstances but I am a bit jaded, even as I am an American, on how the US treats immigrants. Perhaps I can answer your questions. We had a wonderful attorney in Chicago, in case you need a referral.

My husband is Mexican, we went through the process all the way to the interview. He was denied the visa in Nov '04. We tried living in Mexico, then living here (he illegally of course) and now I'm here and he's there. Our boys are 2 and 3 and I think we're going to try living in Mexico again within a year or so. I'd love to answer any ?'s and maybe you could have some good info for me. Needless to say I've been addicted to the presidential debates hoping someone has a plan that would fix this huge immigration mess!!
