Knee Doctor?

My husband is a lifelong runner, and his knee now hurts so that he can't run. Who do you even go to for that? We have Aetna and don't need a referral, but he doesn't know a good doctor to go to! Any suggestions?

What can I do next?

Go to Associated Orthopedics and sports medicine. They are WONDERFUL!!! One of the doctors is the team dr. for the Plano Wildcats football team. My husband, daughter and I have used them many times and have been very happy. THey have an onsite xray and MRI machine and onsite physical therapy. ###-###-#### 4031 W Plano Pkwy

I would HIGHLY recommend my Orthopedist who specialized in knees and hips. I have had both knees replaced and had a fantastic experience both time. He won't replace the knees if it's not needed, though.

Dr. Richard "Dickie" Jones

Again, I can't recommend him more highly!!

I used Dr. Troop for my shoulder surgery and he is wonderful too, but I would definitely use Dickie Jones. He teaches the med students at Southwetern Medical School. He was recommended to me as one of the top three orthopedists for knees in the Dallas area.

Good luck

It sounds like you have received many great doctors. I have knee problems and have had surgery on my right knee. My doctor is Dr. Duncan Ramsey. He is in Plano and everyone I have recommended him to has loved him. As a runner, Dr. Ramsey is very pro-athlete and will usually try other methods before recommending surgery.

Hope he takes care of it soon, knee problems will tend to linger and just get worse with time.

Good luck,

T. - Mom of a beautiful 1 year old boy.

Morning A.,

Depending on where you live- I would recommend Performance Orthopaedics in Frisco. It is located next to Centennial Medical Center at 121 & Coit. Dr. Troy Diehl & Dr. Dan Maurer are great and both are Orthopedic surgeons who are D.O. 's as well so their approach to care is not surgery first- they will treat using other means if possible first. They even have x- ray on site which is so convienent. Dr. Diehl did his sub-speciality in sports medicine and last year worked with the Cincinnatti Bengals (pro football). Both are equally qualified and young therefore are up to date with the latest & greatest techniques. They also accept Aetna insurance. Their phone number is ###-###-####. They will also get him in same day or next day.

Good luck

He possibly wore out his cartilages, I suggest nutritional supplement to help rebuild the cartilages tahn surgery. I have many people who did that and avoided surgery.

Let me know if you would like more information.

My husband absolutely loves Dr. Souryal, he has several different offices. We live in Frisco so here is the number for that office ###-###-####. I'm not sure what insurance he accepts, he is also the doctor for the Mavericks. My husband is a tennis player so I believe he is good for anyone who plays sports. Good Luck!
