JFF Mommy Poll: Do You Fold Your Underwear After You Wash It?

If by "folding" you mean "randomly stuff into a drawer", then yes - yes I do fold! ;)

Wow. :) Okay, I fold everything.

My underwear (although all different) are all folded in the exact same way, and placed in the drawer all facing the same way so it's a nice, even stack. I don't stack them vertically, though, I stack them horizontally (does that make sense? I make a stack and then lay the stack on it's side) so I can see them all at once and pick which ones I want to wear. Same with my daughters underwear.

I don't ball socks, I fold them and again make these horizontal piles. Balling socks makes them lose their elasticity.

Off that subject, all my cleaning rags have to be folded and stacked with the edges all facing in and the nice fold facing out. I also insist that the napkins be put in the holder a certain way so it's easier to just grab one.

I always thought I was normal. :) Maybe I have too much time on my hands.

And PrincessMomma, that's hilarious, because I do too...I will fold a stack of my children's clothing, take it to the bedroom, and then proceed to unfold and hang it all on hangers. :)

I fold mine now, but only because I have a tiny drawer, and I already tried just throwing it in, and it didn't work. I don't mate my socks though, they are all in a pile in the drawer. I don't mate hubby or sons socks. I don't fold son's underwear, I only fold hubby's in half.

Oh dear no. I have trouble working up the pizzazz to fold our clothing, let alone underwear. They don't even get stacked in my house. Just balled up and thrown into a drawer.

My oma, on the other hand, not only folds undies but irons them too.

HA! I'm lucky to fold ANY laundry more than once a week...usually sits in baskets in the laundry room until we are desperate! Just too busy and it's not a priority like clean dishes and baseball practice and dinner! So, folding underwear...nope! they all get messed up anyway, cause who's to say the pair on top is going to go w/ what you are wearing? Print under white, uh, no! LOL!

I fold mine and my husband's. My daughter's get laid flat in her little chest of drawers.

I fold ours. Folding laundry makes me feel calm and like I have accomplished something. It is the only "housework" that I enjoy.

"Fold" ... no. If I have time, I flatten it out and stack it neatly. If I don't have time, it goes in a crumpled pile right in the drawer. Not a priority for me!

I fold all the panties and boxers in my house.

No folding for our undies. They just go into the drawer pretty much as they came out of the dryer. Interestingly enough, my mom was babysitting and she folded the clothes out of the dryer, including my undies and my hubby's boxers (freaked him out a bit that my mom saw his underwear). Maybe it's a generational thing?

Yep - I fold them - not in an OCD kind of way, but they're folded.

Actually yeah, we fold all of our underwear, myself, my little girls, and my husband included!

That said... In other people's houses... If I'm doing their laundry... I do. Heck... If they're wrinkly I even iron them! Also their sheets, curtains, etc. it's the 'providing a service' thing. I do FAR more for others than I would ever even want to do for myself, much less actually do. I used to not even match socks (just bought all the same kind) but my love affair with smart wool socks has made me have to start matching again :P. also the unavoidable side effect of having 'lone troops'.

I don't fold panties, bras, socks, or stockings. If wrinkles don't matter, it doesn't get folded.

My husbands always gets rolled up the way they taught him at army basic training. They fit better in his drawer so i fold them up. Mine usually get folded, but once in a while they get tossed in if i am in a hurry!

I fold my hubby's boxers, but not my underwear, because it never makes it to my drawer. I only have 4 pairs. It forces me to do laundry alot more often though.

Yes I fold everyone's undies in our house. I don't like messy drawers.

All of the males in my house (I'm way out-numbered) wear boxer-briefs, and I (or they) fold them because they are easy to fold because of the shape.

I don't fold my bikinis. I just throw them in my panty drawer. :)

Nope...I bunch mine up and toss them in the drawer....I work full time with 2 kids...I have SO much more important stuff to worry about....

I fold my husband's and son's underwear but I wear only thongs. Not sure how I would "fold" those!

hmmm, I'm not very good at keeping house, but I do fold underwear. It never occurred to me not to.

We each have a basket that our underwear gets tossed into. I got lucky and my man does not do the undershirt/shirt thing so I do not have to worry about that mess and socks go into a bag until I have the time/inclination to match them - typically while catching up on my shows!

I fold my husband's. But it wouldn't do any good to fold mine, because everytime I would open and close the drawer, they would move around enough to not be folded anymore...

This exact thing has happened to me!!! I just figured it's a generational thing to make myself feel better!! I DO NOT fold any underwear, ever. The closest I get is neatly stacking - but not folding - my son's so his drawer is more organized. So funny!!

PS, I will say that having it done for me was the BEST cutest thing, but again would probably never do it myself LOL.

Yes, I fold everyones underwear in our house! Messy dresser drawers are the exact reason why I cannot and will not put my husbands under clothes away (underwear, undershirts and socks) - his dresser drawers are always a mess and if I see them I have to empty them out and refold everything!!!!!!

Funny! I fold my daughters' because she wears boyshorts and they wouldn't fit in her small drawer if I just tossed. I wear mostly bikinis and I have a bigger drawer and I toss!

My mom told me that my aunt's husband used to make her IRON his undergarments (back in the 60s.) Somehow, they are still married.

Of course I fold them...not folding my clothes (even underwear) has never even occurred to me as a possibility :)

My grandfather used to fold and IRON his undies! Needless to say I put the hold on the fold!

I used to fold the underwear, until I realized "what a waste of time!", and I started wearing thongs, and couldn't figure out how to fold them. I actually lay it flat into piles in the drawer.

It depends on how recent the dwarer has been cleaned out! My hubbys choneys used to be folded years ago!

Yes, I'm a folder of the undies...... except my daughters, they're too small to fold.

Panties - no.
Bras - yes, sometimes hang.
Undershirts - yes.
Socks - yes, fold over once, NOT roll. I don't like to stretch them.
Leggings - yes.
Shapewear - yes.

For my husband:
Undershorts - yes
Undershirts - yes, V and crew necks separate.
Socks - roll

No undie folding around here for hubby, daughter or myself. We each have a designated undie drawer and that is where they go.

I do sort his socks and put them in his designated sock drawer.

As for daughter's (17 yrs old) socks, it is a never ending battle because of her cheer, she has to wear no show white socks and it is hard to keep those together so I just put them in our white no shoe sock drawer. I end up replacing the socks often be cause at cheer, they sometimes run around in sock feet and they get filthy at the school plus the washer eats them.

Yes. I fold all of my clothes and place them in the drawers. Panties, bras, camisoles.. I ball up the socks..

Our daughter no. She has a clean pile, a wear again pile and a dirty pile..

We have realized, drawers do not work for her, so we are going to purchase shelves for her, she has promised to keep the clothes folded on there.

Our closets are so small, they are not even deep enough for hangers!!! And so we have elfa in our closets.

No way!! I hang everything (even t shirts) so I don't HAVE to fold. My husband folds the bedding and towels. Those are the only things that get folded here. I wouldn't want another person doing my laundry, either.
