Hi D.,

I delivered 2 babies at that hospital and I was pretty happy with the care. The only thing that bothered me a little was that just prior to checking in I had to wait 3 hours in the waiting room in triage area to be seen. I had some contractions but my water didn't break yet so I wasn't really a priority. But if you're in labor and they take you in you're in good hands. The nurses and doctors are really nice, too.

Hope this helps.

I had my first baby at Thunderbird and I absolutely loved it! Every single nurse was amazingly nice and helpful. I didn't have one bad or crabby nurse the whole time I was there, and I had a C-Section so I was there for a few days. I had my second baby at Arrowhead because my doctor no longer delivers at Thunderbird. Arrowhead was okay, but not nearly as good at Thunderbird. My husband also liked that at Thunderbird they brought him his own meal when they brought mine, they didn't do that at Arrowhead. I would highly reccomend Thunderbird from my experience. I hope I was helpful. Congrats and good luck!

I had all three of my kids (4, 3 and 18 mos) at Banner Thunderbird. With all three deliveries and all the tests I had prior to delivering the last two, I think I maybe I had one bad experience. And that was just a grumpy nurse at one of my tests.. no biggy, everyone has a bad day once in a while. All the nurses when I delivered make you feel like you're their only patient. Very friendly and caring. The rooms are nice. From the time you check in you are in your own room. A couple of the other responses talked about a new maternity wing and although I remember talk of it the last time I was there, I haven't seen it. But, I can only assume that it would be at least as good if not better than what I remember.

I can personally tell you that Banner Tbird is awesome. I just had my son 3 months ago, and got nothing but great treatment from there - and I personally witnessed the Antepartum, post partum and the NICU units. The nurses and dr.s' were all so very friendly. Have fun. !! and congratulations

I had my first baby there, and am pregnant again, but am having my second baby at home. I would, though, return there. Their lactation consultants are great, and were really patient with me. The nurses tried to push formula on me, but not the lactation consultants. They have a breast-feeding support group too for afterwards, and it's really awesome! The rooms are well sized, and they are single beds so you don't share with anyone else. My delivery nurse was awesome too! I had a birth plan that said I did not want pain meds, epidural, etc... and to please not ask, and I still got asked MANY times, but no one was pushy, and I didn't have on. The cafeteria also has decent food, which is nice! Let me know if you have any questions!

I had my daughter at Banner Thunderbird and loved it. Their LDR rooms are very nice. They are large with wood floors, etc. And their maternity ward has all private rooms so there is no chance of you getting stuck sharing a room with someone else. They have roll away beds they bring in if you want your husband/significant other to spend the night with you. I really liked the nursing staff there too. I really can't think of anything bad to say about my experience there. You can also take a tour before hand to see everything for yourself. I understand they added on to their maternity wing recently, but I have not seen it since the addition.

I had both of my children there and they took great care of them! I would deliver there again. The staff was very friendly. The hospital is also a very safe place. They keep a good eye on your baby's safety.

I just had a baby in February at Thunderbird... the nurses were good but the room they put you in after you deliver is so small compared to banner Estrella. Other than that I had no problems. :)

I LOVED Banner Thunderbird!!! Although with my first I had a horrible experience at a different hospital, so I think anything would have been better when compared to the first time.
The nurses were all wonderful, some more strict than others, but they helped make me feel at ease since my last experience was awful. They have an amazing records system and all knew my history and past experience without me having to tell them. I did feel a little bombarded the day after I delivered though. In a two hour time period I had a new nurse and aide come in, the food services person, the pediatrician, the lactation consultant, the social worker to talk about PPD ( I had it with my first), AND some guy came in to update my TV. It was a little much! LOL!
I loved them and would go there again if we were having another baby. good luck!
