I have delivered both my children at Arrowhead and would not recommend it to anyone. I received horribe care after delivering both times.

I prefer Estrella Banner. It was a fantastic experience there!
As for Thunderbird it was ok not very cozy though but everything is at that hospital to deal with anything that may occur with childbirthing. Arrowhead does not have all that would be needed is something should happen your baby would be airavack while you stay to recover. My ob/gyn told me this when I ask which would be best.

I have worked at both hospitals and I live less than a mile from Arrowhead, but I would not go their even if my life depended on it! Hands down Thunderbird is the superior hospital. About 7 years ago, Arrowhead almost lost their license. I have many friends and family who work in the medical field and hear many horror stories about Arrowhead.

I don't have any experience with Arrowhead. I delivered 2 of my 3 children at Thunderbird and both experiences were terrific! I would highly recommend Thunderbird to anyone. The nurses are very caring and all the staff puts you at ease! Even though they deliver hundreds of babies there every month, they made me feel like I was the only person delivering! Mine and my babies comfort was their focus! They also have this wonderul gourmet meal that you can order in for free free after you deliver and it is awesome!

Hi J.,
I'm in pre-nursing school and have worked on and off at Banner Good Samaritan for a number of years. I can tell you that Banner Thunderbird is the top rated hospital as far as patient satisfaction and worker satisfaction. In fact, the other hospital's strive to achieve the numbers that Thunderbird scores ever year. I would highly reccomend Thunderbird.
I've never had any personal experience with Arrowhead but I know people that have been unhappy with them.
Just my tid-bit. Hope it helps!

I have delivered at both hospitals and personally, I prefer Thunderbird. Partly because I had a lot of preterm labor and for that reason, I got to know so many of the nurses. Having this inside information allowed me to pick the nurse who helped me deliver my son. She is awesome and I loved her! The combination of a great doctor and nurse is why my experience was so good. Honestly, the hospital probably didn't matter in my situation. Regardless, however, your doctor usually has a preference and an affiliation. Which means that you really don't get a choice. Hence the reason, I ended up at Thunderbird this last delivery--my doctor switched from Arrowhead to Thunderbird. With that in mind, choose the best doctor first because they will ultimately make or break your experience. In addition, take a tour of both sometimes this can really make an impression on you that will make you side one way or another.
I'm delivering at Thunderbird again in July 2007! When are you due?
FYI: I like the birthing rooms much more at T-bird.
Good Luck!

Hi J.,
I may be late and pray that your experience at Thunderbird was more pleasant than mine was. I had preterm labor with my daughter (she just turned 5 yrs old in November), and everything was fine. When I went to deliver there the nurse who gave me my epidural (I am a wuss and cannot handle pain at all) messed up royally! She had to move the IV and because of that, I had major migraine headaches for the next year!
On another experience, I was having chest pains and had a hard time breathing about 1 year ago and went to the ER at T-bird. I sat in their waiting room at the ER for 1.5 hours before I saw someone in triage, then another 5 hours in the waiting room before I saw a doctor! I will never go there again. As it turned out, I had gall stones and I had the removal of my gall bladder at Arrowhead outpatient, and had a WONDERFUL experience!
Enjoy your new baby!

I would recommend Thunderbird. I just delivered my son there back in September and I was treated like I was the only patient on the floor. All of the nurses and other staff are very caring and really take the time to be by your side. The delivery rooms are big so you don't feel like you are cramped. I have heard that Arrowhead is a bad place to go from several of my friends. I would check with your doctor to see which facility he/she prefers to use.
Best of Luck and Congrats!

I have heard that Arrowhead sucks. Go to Thunderbird. My friend delivered there and she liked it.
