My 2 year old son won't always keep a hat on-- I need an idea for a costume that I can make for him that doesn't require him to wear anything on his head

What can I do next?

So What Happened?

BabysRUs had costumes at 40% off and he picked the Tigger one-- it has a hood, which he loves for now, but if he decides not to wear the hood it'll still be cute. Thanks for all the ideas! I love Halloween! My whole family is so excited!

My daughter was a green M&M when she was 2. No hat, but it came with white gloves. It was simple and adorable. Boy M&M's are just as yummy!

hi there, i had the same problem. i went out and bought it for around $15 but what about good ol' superman? looks like blue top, blue bottom, draw a big "S" in the middle of the shirt, cut a piece of red material and sew it on the back of the shirt for the cape, wahla there's your superman costume. you can prbably find the superman outfit in the pj section at walmart and get it for under $15 and use it again and again at night. good luck!

Tammi,

I would try Disney.com. They have a bunch of cute costumes. For instant my boys won't wear hats either and they are 2, so I got them Lightening Mcqueen racing outfits. They are bright red and really cute. Also, they have 50% off now going on, so you won't pay 80+ bux like I did for 2. They are around 40, so going for around 20$ now.

I hope this helps.

How about a character from the bible: - David, Noah (with the tablet) a wiseman etc. or a cartoon character: sponge bob costume, fred flinstone or even a pirate with an eye patch! Just a thought! Hope it turns out well.

I don't know of one that's easy to make but we bought my son a costume last year from Target that was a cowboy riding a horse. It cost about $10-$15 and it was adorable. The child is the back legs of the horse and the top of the child is the cowboy riding. Adorable! I saw it again this year at Target.

I saw an article in a magazine once when my little boy was about 4. It could probably work with a 2 yr old as well. Make him into a spider... black sweatpants with a long sleeved black Tshirt.. then, you buy 2 sets of black pantyhose (I would get little girl ones).. cut the legs off and stuff them with blanket stuffing stuff. Then stitch the ends closed. One of the "bottoms" of the panty hose, stuff it and sew closed. Then stitch it all onto the back of the T-shirt.. .it becomes the "other" 4 legs of the spider and the big bulbous part. You can use face paint to add extra eyes on your son's forehead (spiders have 8 eyes).
My son loved it... and when his little sister was big enough she used to play in it!

How about a mechanic or something where he can have a tool belt? My son always loved those kind of costumes ... He could be a tennis player or a soccer player too (no hats there!)

My son went as a surfer one year and we used the spray hair coloring to "bleach" out his black hair ... He had a blast.

When my boys were litle they loved to wear their super hero jammies for Halloween and during the day as well as at night. Matching underwear came in handy when they were potty trained. No headgear required.
