I never over sleep, I always wake up early...lastes it 9 am.

But today I woke up at 12 pm...and I went to bed early than normal last night.

Is that normal?

I dont have much advice, I just wanted to write you and say you're not alone! I'm only 20 weeks in, and this is my first too.. I wasn't tired in the beginning, but all the sudden, I can barely keep my eyes open! I was JUST thinking to myself maybe something was wrong, but maybe it's just pregnancy. Although I wish I could sleep in like you did, my body clock keeps waking me up at 7, whether I go to bed late or not! Good luck!

Dear Sunshine:

During my first pregnancy, I couldn't stay awake! My husband kept asking me to go running with him or walking or hiking and I just wanted to sleep! He was a little bit frustrated with me because he'd married an active girl and here I was, turning into a lump! Ha ha!

Finally, some experienced moms explained to both of us that this was NORMAL! My second pregancy was the exact same way and since, then, I've had to answer this question for others. Some people feel stronger and some feel sleepy. It's just the way it is. Oh, and by the way, SLEEP! Don't deny yourself what your body needs!

Best wishes,

M.

oh yeah, I remember those days. I'd have a hard time sleeping because of pregnancy pains (and I had a lot), when I was finally able to get to sleep boy did I make up for it. Even if you don't get the pains you bet your body needs more rest. It is working overtime

Enjoy it while you can, once the baby arrives, you will be on it's clock, and feeding every 2 hours or so!! It's normal what you're going through. Your body needs the rest, and pretty much is taking it right now.

Enjoy!

I was so very tired when I was pregnant, especially the first and last trimesters. At the end of my pregnancy I could have slept most of the day if I could have. If your body is telling you that it needs more sleep, then sleep. In a few weeks you will be up early way too often. :) Plus your baby is growing so much in the last few weeks... that really zapped my energy!! Good luck mommy!

Lol lucky you! I got about 4 hours of sleep last night. I worked until 3 am and my son woke me up at around 7 because he has runny nose and seems like catching a cold. But yeah I wish I could sleep that long.

Sunshine!
Your body is going through major changes and requires massive amounts of energy. When your body works that hard it's going to need the down time. Relax, it's all part of the 'adventure'. Do a search so you can read the research.

When you're pregnant, you bet that's normal. Think of all the work your body is doing, every second of the day, building an entire human being. It's exhausted even when you "haven't done anything." Listen to your body and rest as much as you can, even after the baby comes.

Congratulations on becoming a MOMMY. :)

Sleep away. Your placenta grows as you sleep. If you want a good healthy placenta, then get all of the rest you can.

I remember being pregnant the first time and sleeping ALOT and feeling like I was being lazy. YOU are growing another person......lots of work!

Also, your ability to sleep when you need or want to is going to go away, COMPLETELY, when your baby is born. Sleep now!! Sleep as much as you want to........you will not be able to again for a very looooonnnnngggg time.

Best wishes

Your body needs the sleep! Get it while you can. My son is 6 years old and I'm exhausted... I never get to sleep anymore! I had to beg him to let me sleep this weekend.

Good luck!
