I Need Help Re-naming My Business!

Hi everyone,

When I was a kid my mom had a gift basket company named "The Basketcase" -she is bipolar and it was meaningful to her to show that yeah she was crazy but she could still run her life and a business! ... well... I recently started it up again on my own. Problem is, I discovered that there is an Orlando-based gift basket company that has adopted the name and, no, my mom did not have rights to it anymore.

I am struggling to find a new name I love for my business and I would love for some ideas from you all!

I love puns and play on words. I really liked "Badass Baskets" with a donkey as the logo but I also found out there is a coffee shop called badass coffee with a donkey logo so that just won't work!

I am edgy and I want the name to reflect that but I have hit a road block!

Urghhh! Can you guys help me?!

What can I do next?

I like Dreamweaver! I was trying to think of a clever play on the expression "going to Hell in a handbasket" which I've always found an amusing, crazy expression. To Heaven in a handbasket?

Maybe
"Red's Goody Baskets", with a logo of Little Red Riding Hood, carrying her basket to Grandma?

"Basketry" (literally: the art of making baskets, but it's also just a fun word to say out loud)

"Basket-of-Gold" It's the name of a flower, so it's got a built-in logo, too.

Can't come up with anything better than "Toto's Other Ride" or simplify it to "Toto's Ride".
Not sure if you can use Toto tho, they probably have rights.

Badass might be a funny name, but you would limit your clientele by adopting it, because there are people who would not buy from you because of the name. So I'm glad you can't use it (sorry!!)

I liked the other poster's idea of "A Tisket, A Tasket".

Good luck!

You could do The Basketcase, LLC in AZ. Just because someone in Florida has it doesn't mean you can't use it here. Go to the AZ Corp Commission and go to the reserve a name place and put it in. They will tell you if the name is available. Then you can reserve it for 90 days while you are getting the LLC formed.

Basket theory is a good one. Just because someone else has this name doesn't mean you can't especially if you're naming it after your mom.

What about - Basketcase Too

just a thought
