Try Dr. Woods in Ozark, he is independent. He left the St. John's network last year and opened his own practice.
He is at the intersection just east of Lamberts on J, across NN from the Hopedale Church
He's great! My husband and I go out of network so we can keep seeing him.

We use Cynthia Hughes as our GP. Love her!! Her nurse Emily is awesome! She is on W Sunshine, near Braums.

Have you tried Jordan Valley clinic? My friend/co-worker goes to Jordan Valley, & takes her kids there. Our insurance is Cox. You might also try Ozarks Community Hospital (used to be Doctors Hosp.)--they have a clinic. My husband goes to OCH, and his dr. seems nice.

Have you tried the Diagnostic Clinic across from Cox South? Their more established doctors are probably full but if they have newer members of the practice they may still be building up their patient base. They're the only ones I can think of off the top of my head.

Hi D.-I actually work for Cox and I have a few suggestions for you. Depending on where you are located at here are a few:

You could also use the Residency program, it is listed under Family Medical Care Center (FMCC for short) ###-###-####. These are residents that practice medicine and are supervised by the physicians (or attendings on staff). Sounds scary but is an excellent program for physicians.

I will tell you that I am not sure how long it would take you to get into see any of these physicians, however there are a few that are fairly new and are still building their practices (may not have as many restrictions on who they will see). I have had interaction with all but one of these physicians and the other I know through reputation only. I hope that this helps you out, there is also a referral hotline of 269-INFO that you can call anytime and they will tell you who is accepting new patient's in your area and with your specifications. You can also go to coxhealth.com and they will have a listing of different physicians in the area and their specialties. I do know that all of the physicians that are listed above are family physicians. If you decide to call FMCC and go there I would highly recommend that you ask to be scheduled with the "gold team". They have different color teams for different specialties. I know the this team and I believe that they are the best in the practice.

If you are really running low on your medication for your thyroid a last resort is always to go into the Urgent Care (I would use the one located at Walnut Lawn) and have them check your level and get you a months worth of meds until you can get in to see someone. If you have an appt already scheduled with a physician then they can send all of the testing information to them so they will have it when you go in for your first visit. I know that it is more costly this way, but with someone who also has thyroid issues I know how important it is to stay on your medication.

Have you tried contacting Family Medical Care Center? Their office is located inside of Cox North. They have many doctors and residents, and I have never heard anyone say they weren't accepting new patients. If you want to check with them, the number is ###-###-####.

St. John's has a physician referral line that (among other things) will tell you which doctors are taking new patients. Maybe Cox has something similar. Good luck!
