I recently moved to Darien and I would like to get a new Primary Care Physician (PCP) in the area. Can anybody recommend a GREAT friendly doctor in the Darien/Woodridge area? I am looking for a doctor that practices in Internal Medicine or Family Practice and a doctor that can actually get you in the week that you are sick and not 2-3 weeks later! Thank you.

What can I do next?

Hi Roseann - Everyone in my family goes to the Loyola family Practice Center in Darien. It is at the corner of 75th and Lemont, right next to the Stein Mart. They are excellent about getting you in right away and we have never been rushed out of the office. My daughters both see Dr. Heidi Renner as their primary care, but everyone there is outstanding (Pangan, Ozark, Vavra, Vesilik). I am pretty sure that Vavra is an internist. Most of the Docs are Family Medicine.

Good Luck on your search

My husband and I see Dr. Joseph Towers in Woodridge (75th Street and Woodridge Drive behind White Hen). He's with DuPage Medical Group. He's excellent. We've never had any problem getting in the SAME DAY when needed! No kidding. And we hardly sit in the waiting room at all - no more than 5-10 minutes waiting to be called into the room. They know what they're doing and how to do it!! They've made me and my husband very happy patients. Granted when you have to get in, you see which ever doctor is available (Dr. Costabile or Dr. Nelson) but they are all good. Dr. Towers is our primary and we do like him the best, but when you have to get in the other two are good too. Check them out at www.dupagemedicalgroup.com. Good luck!

I used to live in Woodridge but when I moved to Aurora, I would not change my doctor. She's WONDERFUL! So are her partners - they are both great physicians and incredibly patient friendly.

Dr Jean Walsh in Seven Bridges. Dr Mathews works with her and Anna is the physicians assistant - all 3 are absolutely wonderful!

Dr. Ozark at Loyola in Darien is fantastic and hasn't lost any of his bedside manner since many physician visits have become less personal. His number is ###-###-####. Good Luck.

Downers Grove Family Practice is wonderful! I love Dr Ambrose she is always very thorough. They are well staffed and I always get in with in a couple of hours if I am sick. They are right off Main St in Downers....just past the downtown area.

Hi Roseann,
Check out Loyola's Primary Care Center in Darien. It's on 75th and all of the doctors we've seen there are fabulous (Dr. Veselik, Ozark, etc.).

Good Luck!
