I Need a Good Park

I need a place i can take my son who is almost three. I've tried mt trashmore but all of the bigger kids tend to knock him over or try not to let him play. Please tell me where a good place to play with my son is that is not so full.

What can I do next?

So What Happened?™

Thank you everybody for your suggestions, I can't wait to try some this weekend!

Try Cheapeake Park. It is on Greenbrier parkway. It is very big and has lots of swings and has 3 different playsets. One for really small children, one for lets say 3 or 4 year olds, and one for the older kids. My child loves it. Everything is int he shape of a castle, so he always asks to go to the Castle park. If you need directions, just take Greenbrier past the mall and past volvo, you will then see signs for it.

Hi, Just joined and saw your request. :) If you don't mind driving to Chesapeake, Fun Forest is a great park for smaller ones. It is fenced all around, and has two play areas within the fence. One is meant for bigger kids and the other is meant for smaller kids (early walkers to maybe 4 or 5).
Fun Forest is located on Greenbriar Pkwy. If you are coming from I64, go past the mall and shopping centers and past a school (can't remember the name). Look for a small brown sign that says Chesapeake City Park on the right. Fun Forest is through the picnic area by the back parking lot. I go there quite a bit with my kids ages 7, 3 and 15 months. Enjoy!

I have taken my children to the Red Wing Park near the Science Museum.

We really like mount trashmore. We go in the evenings, there seems to be less kids there at that time. Also, the Edwin side of Mount Trashmore is always less crowded and the kids are much younger (2-6). I have also driven by another park that looks nice and is never crowded. It's off of Windsor Oaks (from Independence to Holland make a right on windsor oaks) The park is on your left before you reach Princess Anne. It's purple - you can't miss it :-)

If you go to the Edwin Dr side of Mt. Trashmore, there are less older kids. Thats where I take my daughter. Redwing Park off to Generalbooth is also pretty quite. You can also go to the playplace in the mall, but that is always busy.

I like Red Wing and Princess Anne Park

I live off of Providence...Woodstock Park is awesome cuz they have both a "little" kid park and an older kid park so the kids pretty much stick to their own area...and if you have a kiddo's that fall into each age group...the playgrounds are so close you can watch them close. Plus if you have pets..they have a fenced off dog area...and major +...bathrooms:)

I definitely recommend the park by the South Rosemont Youth Library. It's a nice place to play and it has a covered table for snacks. Another bonus is that you can then walk to the library for books/storytime for the little ones!

Here's the library's info:
