Any Ideas of Where to Hold a First Birthday Party in Virginia Beach???

My son will turn 1 this spring and I am having a really hard time thinking of a place to have his first birthday party. We have a pretty large family and with friends we may invite around 40 people, possibly more. I would love to have it at my house, but unfortunately it is way too small. Since it is a 1st birthday party I'm not looking for a place like a gymboree or my gym, but more like a room somewhere that I can decorate and provide food and cake and make it special. If anyone has any ideas they would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!!!

What can I do next?

I would try some of the Rec. centers. I know the one on General booth is NICE!!! GREAT room for many people! And they provide a cake and balloons and plates. but you can bring what ever you want too! It's a GREAT place!

Also try some parks if you're looking for a HUGE family outing. Mt trashmore or even Munden point park off of princess anne. Need to book soon though!

How about a park? There are several and the kids love the park and if you book a covered area ahead of time then even if it rains you are good! Good luck.

What about a church's social/fellowship hall? I know there have been parties/get-togethers in ours. Good luck!

I personally liked a family party, and did the other stuff when they were older! They are still babes at 1, and we had cake and family with picture taking and we loved it! Maybe get a new outfit, or something engaved to mark this milestone.
It's all up to you! My last child I bought him a swing for our front porch and it was so much fun! He is special no matter what you do!!! God Bless!

Hi J...do you have a friend with a community center in their neighborhood that you can rent? If you want to come to Norfolk there is the Fred Huette Center that can be rented. Have a great birthday!

What about Friendly's or a local restaurant? We have planned parties there and as long as you spend 100.00 (that amount could have changed... it's been awhile) they will reserve a room for you to yourself. That's not hard to do with a crowd. We pay for the kids and have the adults buy their own. Hope this helps.
