I believe me and my kids got another cold just as we were (almost) feeling a little relief from another cold. My kids are all congested. My almost 4 yo son has a wet cough and is getting OTC meds and is drinking good eating is so-so. My 13 mo daughter is starting to cough alot and nose is runny. I bought the Hylands Sniffles and Sneezes tablets (which I just started giving me son so I don't know how well they will work) but I was wondering if I could cut the dosage in half for the baby (1 pill instead of 2). I can't imagine this would be bad, but I wanted to see if anyone else used this with children under 2. I am giving her ibuprofen and acetaminophen every couple hours as directed. I just want to be able to do more for her. She is eating and drinking good so that is a plus.

What can I do next?

Never give your child any medication that isn't listed for their age without a Doctor's recommendation. As much as you want to it may not be appropriate. Medication distributed in the pill may not be distributed evenly throughout the whole tablet and when cutting it you may be giving her more medication than is safe. call the nurse at your pediatrician and see if there is anything else you can give or if there is anything else you can try. In my opinion giving a hot bath with Johnson's and Johnson's Eucalyptus wash works great in conjunction with the steam. All in all talk to the Doc first.

have you tried a humidifier, letting her sit in a nice warm bath to help drain her sinuses? Baby vicks works wonders too on their chest before bed and also put some on their feet before bed and put socks on. that really works!

i wouldn't give the baby anything mdeication-wise. most home natural remidies are tried and true!

I don't know anything about that brand, but in the past my doctor has ok'd the use of medicine for older children, just with the dosage cut in half. If possible, I would check with you doc before giving her something new, though.
