How to Remove Stickiness from Son's Shirt
Hi ladies! My son had a sticker on his shirt and I forgot to take it off before washing it. Now there is no sticker, but a round stickiness where the sticker once was. Any suggestions on how to remove the adhesive without harming the shirt? I'd love your suggestions!
Thanks,
C.

I was thinking that rubbing alcohol works rather well. its been awhile since i've dealt with anything other than food sticky stuff. you might try vinegar too. although I haven't tried it on stains on clothes I know that vinegar and baking soda makes for a good foam that helps clean and deoderize. especially on drains that are rather slow.

I used Goo Gone on my son's shirts when he gets a sticker past me. It works great, but you'll want to test it on an inconspicuous spot first if it's silk or other delicate fabric. (Not sure if this is a dress shirt or not.) Just throw it back in the wash after you wipe it off - the Goo Gone washes right out.

Rubbing alcohol worked perfectly for me. Plus, it's inexpensive, and you probably already have it at home.

Goo-Gone works wonders! Apply, let it set, then scrape off with finger nail/rough cloth. Good luck.

tHE DOLLAR General store has a product called awesome that is only a dollar, an it will take it out as it takes tar out of blue jeans that my cousin wears for work. Also if no dollar general around your area, you can buy a product called goo gone from any hardware store, the stuff is not expensive either.

Good Morning C., You might try a little salt and baking soda on the wet shirt. Neither one will harm the clothing. Also if you have some Avon skin so soft body oil that will take it off also, it takes oil and grease off of cars so why not cloths...lol Might try is on a hidden spot first. Simple green takes out stains and spots too.
Ice cubes takes out gum for carpets and hair, it might work on his sticker marks. The joys of Stickers, we get one every time we walk into Wally World...lol
Good Luck C.

C., I am not a fan of stickers for this very reason. Goo Gone will take the residue right off and it won't stain the shirt. I put the Goo Gone on and work the sticker off and then rinse. Then, just for good measure, I put a little liquid soap on the area and work it in then rinse it out. Works like a charm. Goo Gone is good stuff for a lot of things like that.
