How to Keep Jeans Tucked into Boots?

I know the style is to wear boots over your jeans. I've always worn my pants over my boots, but today I decided to be "stylish." My jeans rode up in the boots and I looked like a pirate with big poofs at my knees. How do you keep your jeans down in your boots?? Thanks!!

I am not a boot person really. Apparely my calves are honking large on my 150 pound body and they never fit. Plus make my legs look super short? *sigh*

But I found some slouchy, sweater fabric sort of ones, with large buttons down the side that are Muk-luks...not slippers, actually boots..but sort of on the line. **COMFY** But that gathering jeans thing was part of my issue to!

But I have these great Vera Wang capris I wore all summer...with a no seam frayed sort of bottom that can be turned down. On the tag it showed how "versatile" they were to be worn 3 ways??? Not really sure but the rolled as a wide cuff capri way was the only way that felt right to me!! But with these boots I have the capris, rolled down, are perfect!!! They hit about high ankle, are a skinny lower leg style...and so less bulk in there!

So look at your capris that are a skinny leg or more snug style?? Mine work great!!

Skinny jeans, although I have been known to take those clip things that you use to clip mittens to kids' coats and use them to hold my jeans down! Clip one to one side of the jeans, under the foot, and then clip the other side.

Basically, you can't do this with regular jeans - have to get skinny jeans so they don't budge. :)

Yup, skinny jeans. They are tight at the bottom so you can just slip your boots over them.

You can buy elastic stirrups that you attach to the bottom cuffs before you stick your feet in your boots.

I either wear skinny jeans or smash my jeans into my socks, then pull my boots over the sock :)

I agree with the mama who mentioned capris. I have some cute capris I wear with my boots and nobody knows!! :-)

Otherwise the mamas are right skinny jeans or a friend who is willing to tug that pant leg down! I've had a friend help me... i'm sure that was humorous to the fly on the wall :-)

I haven't worn them tucked in to pants in years - but when I did I used to pull my knee socks over the pants. You are still going to get the baggy knees unless the jeans are skinny.

You can do it with regular jeans!! Here is what I do: Pull your the bottom ankle of your jeans tight around your leg by pulling the fabric in the back, then fold it over flat on your leg, so it looks like you have a fold (you can do it on the side on the hem too). Then fold the bottom up to make a cuff. It helps keep it flat against your leg. Then pull your sock over your jeans keeping the denim flat in the sock. The put your boot on.

I cannot wear skinny jeans at all, they look horrible on me. I've done this with my regular boot cut jeans and it looks just fine. I wouldn't do it with wide legged jeans, though. Good luck!!

ok im no boot expert or anything, but I do love boots and I live where it snows. ALOT! So boots get a lot of usage. In my experience, there is no real way to prevent this.. lol some things that help, are wearing skinny jeans as opposed to boot cut or whatever becuase they are tighter around the calf area. Leggings also work great, but it is not a fashion statement that everyone can pull off! and not very warm either! other than that, if you wear tall socks (like to mid calf or even the knees, it gives the pants a little more to hold onto instead of just sliding up... Hey, no one ever said fashion was easy. or comfortable! lol

P.s. a friend of mine used to put rubberbands or hair ties over her pants around the ankle to keep them in place. Im not sure how comfortable that is though..

Hollywood Fashion Secrets makes some awesome products ( I love their fashion tape). They make Boot Straps $11.00 that are designed for just what you are talking about-its like a velcro cuff you slide on over your pant leg. Bed bath and beyond carries their products.
