I can't stand the boys who wear their jeans hanging off their rear end/exposing their boxers. I can't believe I still see it. It's been too long.

Pants that are too low, on anybody.
Flip flops, especially in the workplace (I don't care if they say COACH on them!)
Exposed underwear (when will this go away!)
Skirts and shorts that are way too short
Snow/weather/work boots and skirts
Inappropriate clothing for children that belongs on someone much older
Those peplum things that stick out at the hips
Crazy tall heels

ETA: The ROMPERS! I'm totally with you, Hazel. Nobody over the age of 4 should wear them.

I do not like to see teenage boys with pants that are falling down...

I DISLIKE seeing teenage girls who wear tank tops (summer) w/ their bras showing!

I dislike the real short dresses that the teenage girls wear now. I think the longer ones show much more class !

I dislike that I really can't find clothes made here --In the USA!

I still can't wear the neon colored sneakers! They are youthful though !

I've never liked men in white jeans.
People who wear t shirts with pictures of animals on them; either the cutesy puppies with flowers or the ones with things like wolves all over them.
Neon~ Yuck
Uggs especially in warm weather.
Uggs with short skirts
Those weird dresses that are cut shorter in the front than in the back
Sweats with writing on the butt
Kids shirts with things like "I'm too cute to do my homework" "Daddy's little Princess"
Super uncomfortable looking shoes... either ones that have a 4 inch stiletto heel or those super high wedges that people can't even walk in
Fun question!

Skinny jeans, too. Unflattering on most, and a great source of UTIs.
Uggs. I wish they'd go away.ugh.
Velour pants and jacket sets. Juicy Couture is neither juicy nor couture.
Anything with letters/writing on the butt. Really? You want me to *read* your butt?!
Cork wedge shoes and most high heels. They usually look silly and most are not as flattering as the wearers think they are.
Midriff anything.
"rompers". Please, no. Only children should wear anything called a 'romper'. (those horrid sleeveless tops with shorts attached.)
Ed Hardy shirts. Sorry, but most guys in these just scream "midlife crisis"... I rarely ever see young guys in those.
Logo shirts. Just not a fan.
"Little Princess" or "Here Comes Trouble" type shirts for boys. ummm, thanks for the warning?

oh, AV- thanks for helping me remember. THE UNDERWEAR! I do NOT want to see your underwear!!!

Lisa C: LOL. Seriously. PLUMS?! ha!

Before I even clicked on your question, I thought "men in skinny jeans."

Oh, how I hate them. They look HIDEOUS! I was watching American Idol a few weeks ago, and one of the singers was wearing them. I thought, "Egads, those jeans make him look ridiculous."

Even more ridiculous when they're worn with big, puffy shoes.

Skinny jeans also look awful on most women. Yuck!

I don't like leggings on women who treat them like regular pants, where their butts are visible.

I can not STAND skinny jeans...especially on grown men. BLEH.
But they don't look good on about 95% of the population. So, that trend needs to die...soon.
I think it's funny when I see some of the teen girls up here with their short skirts, sweaters, scarfs, BARE LEGS and Uggs. Um, it's cold. Put some pants on!

I agree on most of yours.
Skinny jeans on CERTAIN males--like teens--OK if they pull it off overall.

To me, it's not so much the "trends" but the inability of some people to judge the "look" on themselves!

Seriously, I've seen enough tramp stamps on overweight 20-something's wearing low rise jeans to last a lifetime.

Same goes with jeans so low you see the entire underwear on Guys!

ETA: How could I forget!? Crocs on men/sandals on men!
Sandals on people (male or female) that can't seem to take care of their feet!

Micro-mini's - even when I was younger - I didn't like them.

Jeans with holes in them...buying brand new jeans with rips and holes? URGH!!

Boys or men (yeah right who wear their pants so low you want to "de-pants" them...I don't want to see your underwear...your crack...your junk...thanks so much!!

Women who are determined to buy pants and shorts too small and have "camel toe" - that is just sooo wrong!!

Mens speedos!! NEVER liked them on the swim or dive team in high school and college - don't like 'em now...

Skinny jeans on boys are OKAY - not my favorite...my youngest likes them because IF he is wearing pants while riding his bike - the legs don't get in the way...but on MEN? NO thank you.

"wife beater" t-shirts...sorry - never been a fan of those...especially when men have back hair and it's sticking out all over the place? eeewww!!!

let's see....I am sure there are more...but those are my top dislikes!

I'm totally with you on the skinny jeans and the chevron prints

Animal print

Leggings worn as pants. We just got stationed in England and they are THE thing for women to wear. The problem is that they aren't for every woman of every shape and the folks here didn't get the memo. Plus they have a thing where they will wear black leggins with a pair of denim daisy duke cut-offs over them. So you see a young teenage girl showing all her bits and making it even more obvious because of the daisy dukes.

The ever present trend of making plus size clothes for women with poppies or hibiscus the size of dinner plates or - God help me - fruit on it. What woman of a larger size wants to wear anything with food on it. It's like being a walking punch line. And who actually sits back, looks at a sketch of clothing and says, "Do you know what would make this better? Plums."

Trucker hats

Lace seems to be in for the spring and summer. A huge ammount of lace. It looks like Laura Ashley walked into the womens ware department and threw up. Less really is more. I saw (I promise) lace covered running shorts today. Black nylon shorts covered in black lace. Hideous.

Skinny jeans on just about anyone. Not flattering, always skanky.

The trend of wearing a chunky bootie-type shoe (the kind that look like boots but cut off at the top of the foot, not even as high as an ankle boot) with a skirt or dress. Attention ladies! Cutting off your legs at the top of your foot = chunky and unbalanced looking legs no matter how thin you are. Jennifer Hudson wore this look in one of her WW ads it was just awful.

Peplums - who decided to try this again? Lets call attention to the largest part of a woman's body by embellishing it with cheesy detail! Not!

Muffin tops, back flab, whale tails and tramp stamps - there are ways to conceal our underwear, bad tattoos, and figure flaws. Buy some supportive undergarments and clothing that fits.

Women who wear Disney, Hello Kitty or any other character clothing. Why is there even a Winnie the Pooh sweatshirt in an adult size?

People who don't understand that just because they make it in your size (skinny jeans, short shorts, low riders, belly tops, bikinis) doesn't mean you can wear it.

answers from Norfolk on

I can't stand low rise pants.
I'm so tired of all the muffin tops when people try to shove too much behind into too small pants - it's gross.
I also can't stand the 'wear the pants as low as your thighs' thing some guys do.
I am SO not interested in seeing any of their underwear.
I'm sick of seeing belly buttons.
Short shirts exposing skin around the waist (and all those giggly muffin tops) is just an awful look.
Why can't some trends just die already?
They've been around way too long.
You'd think with an obesity crisis in progress that people would choose something/anything that would be more flattering.

I cannot stand that "ombre" hair color. I have news for you... our parents did that in the '80's and it was called "roots" then, and they were free, and not a look you tried to go for.

Leggings as pants... they are NOT pants, and I don't want to see your hoo-ha outline.

Black, large framed hipster glasses. Especially when you don't even need glasses, or you just wear the frame. Really? Actually I can't stand most of the hipster uniform - slouchy beanie placed just so on the back of the head, the emo hair. Ugh. maybe it's because 1/2 the people I work with dress like that and it seems like they're trying too hard.

I agree with the Ed Hardy comment, so gaudy and tacky, IMO.

I don't care much what others wear, but these two confound me:
1) Super skinny jeans worn under the butt (I see this on teen boys). The old trend of super baggy jeans was odd, but at least those pants were probably comfortable. These are falling down and too tight!

2) Jeggings

I kinda like color blocking. I am also really happy that gauze, Nehru collars, and tunics are back.

Skinny jeans on any adult over the size of 4 - I like them on kids
T-shirts cut to have fringe on the bottom
All the gross neon colors
Colored skinny Jeans - I think Gap just wasted a few million stocking their stores with those ugly things.
Super high heels with platform bottoms. Makes you look weird when you walk

Any shoe on the market right now LOL - I have taken to looking at vintage heels on Ebay and Etsy.

Before even clicking on the question, my first thought was

Skinny Jeans on males. Complete turn off.

Skinny jeans on females should also just go away. They don't look good on 99% of women, so I don't understand why so many insist on wearing them. (This does not include skinny jeans worn inside of boots taller than mid-calf and only refers to skinny jeans work with flats, heels, sneakers, ankle boots).

I'm 50 and tiny.
Do you think I can find a pair of jeans in my size that barely cover my pubic area?
I HATE low-rise pants! I HATE them! Even "dress" pants in my size don't come close to approaching my waist. I'm built like a stick and have nothing to hold them up. I feel like they are going to slide right off.
I don't like seeing them on younger girls either. Who the heck came up with that idea?
I don't like skinny pants on boys/men and I don't like the long Justin Bieber hair fad. Even HE has cut his hair.....get over it!!!!

I hate baggy pants on guys with their underwear showing. I would have thought that look would die years ago. I also don't like seeing a girl's thong or tattoo on her back because her shirt is too short and her pants are too low. I know you are asking about fashion, but I can't stand a beautiful girl with tattoos on her neck and chest. I'm not against people having tattoos, but I don't like the neck and chest thing. We interviewed a very cute girl at work, darling really, she had short hair, and as she walked out the door we noticed that she had a set of eyes tattooed on the back of her neck. I guess that means she has eyes in the back of her head. :)

Anyway, I digress.
Some people can pull certain looks off and some people can't.
I'm not really comfortable judging people any more than I would be comfortable wearing certain things.

To each his/her own. I just know that as a small woman, I have a hard time finding things to fit that aren't too "young" and I'm not ready for Grandma polyester just yet. I wear dresses 99% of the time. It's easier.
My friends call me June Cleaver.

What's wrong with skinny jeans on males? As long as the butt is covered and they are slender it looks cute. My issue is that most people wear clothes that are too big and I HATE clothes that are too big on kids. I am not talking about the occasional wearing of other brother's sweatshirt or one size too big because you are trying to save money. I mean clothes 2-3 sizes too big. It looks messy and bad. As for adults, most men SHOULD be wearing more fitted pants.

I abhor following trends. I prefer to dress as I like...not conforming to anyone's preconceived ideas.

That said, yes, I'm plus-size. I do not like horizontal stripes, nor diagonals on me. On me! I do like them on other people....except "pear-shaped" figures. I have also found that stripes can get skewed out of shape if your bustline is not exactly equal on both sides. :) But I love striped curtains!

I don't mind skinny jeans on skinny people. Some men & women pull this look off extremely well. I do not!

I prefer bootcut or straight leg jeans. I do not like wide-bottomed jeans/pants.

I don't like short jackets over long tops. I don't like shrugs on very busty women....unless the shrug almost meets in the middle. Hate it when it looks like the shrug is stuck in the pits!

I don't like short lengths on knobby-kneed women. Not all knees are attractive! Some are quite ugly. Other than that, I like when women think outside of the box when it comes to dresses/pants/capris/etc. I like leggings under tunics & under short dresses. I've even seen leggings under longer dresses, & they rock with heels!

Since I am a color freak, not much bothers me....except dayglo neon. I prefer logo/caption-free clothing. I prefer retro/classics over trendy. Love vintage accessories over today's cheaper junk....but I do like some of today's good stuff. :)

I guess my biggest issue would be "dressing down" for events. Nothing wrong with jeans as long as they're paired with everything else good! But quite often.....the "good" doesn't happen. (I'm thinking my DH's camo pocket tshirts + his camo zip hoodie. I have to fight it off of him.!)

Can I really be the only person who throws fits over knuckle-length sleeves that keep unrolling into whatever I'm cooking, washing, or digging? I saw a movie about 15 years ago in which an innocent, waif-like girl wears her sleeves like that, and the next season, excessively-long sleeves is IN! This is, to me, the modern equivalent of foot-binding. Can't work with those long sleeves, so call the servants.

I have no problem with skinny jeans, even on boys. Only the skaters tend to wear them around here. My daughters love them and (for them) I do too. They are tall, thin almost 5 year olds and they actually stay up!!!

My dislikes:
crocs! (although one of my daughters loves her "garden shoes" and I like that she knows that is what they were made for)
shiny pants or leggings
patchwork/color block, especially in purses
Huge shiny purses
plus size shirts that not only dont cover what we want covered, but barely hit the waist line!
plus size Tshirts with Tweety bird, Eyore, cutsie kittens or any other disgusting, none grown up item
