How Do I Make a HUGE Glittery 3-D Spider Web?

I've made spider webs big enough to cover a whole wall, and all I used was a ball of black yarn(you can add glitter if you want). You cut a piece about 5-6in. long, tie it in a circle, then cut 8-10 longer pieces(2 will be the distance across the web), tie them to the circle, and lay them on the floor like a wagon wheel. Start close to the center, and go around the wheel with the remaining ball, tying it to each spoke, then moving out a few inches when you complete the circle, and start again. Easy, peasy. Get a big spider at the craft store, and tie a piece of yarn to it, then tape or tack the web and spider up.

The way I would do it is to use the Elmer's 3D glitter glue and would design it on a piece of wax paper. After the glue dries, it should just peel right off. GL

Black string, liquid starch, glitter

- Soak string in liquid starch
- Create your web
- Sprinkle with glitter
- allow to dry over night

You can make spiders this way too... blow up a balloon, wrap the soaked string around the balloon, glitter, dry over night.

Good ideas for the web!

Here's an idea for a giant spider...use panty hose! Get several pairs of black pantyhose, stuff it with newspaper to make the legs and use an old black t-shirt to make the body. Hope you win!

Fabric paint.... the kind that comes in squeeze bottles... dries "raised." If you apply it to maybe saran wrap maybe... you can then 'peel' it off.... and while it is drying... sprinkle glitter on it....

Or, buy those webs that you can buy in stores... to decorate doors... looks sort of like cotton that you can stretch out into "webs"... and then maybe sprinkle glitter on it.... adding also perhaps plastic spiders on it etc.

Or using twine... 'weave' your own 'web'... tying and knotting it in increments in the shape you want... sort of like making a fishing net... then, sprinkle glitter on it and glue bugs/spiders on it....

I was thinking if you use the pipe cleaners in a white or silver create your web design then get white & silver glitter spray paint and get creative with a glittery design ... and if you want to you can use hot glue gun to drip "dew" on it ... not sure if you are going creepy or not but would love to see/hear how it turns out.

Are there longer pipe cleaners at the craft store? Other wise wrap coat hangers and then wrap with a glitter thread or elastic. Use regular pliers and needle nose pliers to turn the wire how you need it. I am not sure how you will attach this to the wall.

Maybe you could use that spray-on hair glitter for making the web sparkly instead of glue and glitter. If it works, it would be a lot faster and less messy.

Nancy has the original idea I had. But on second thought... maybe you could do the same thing with some large gauge fishing line... spider webs aren't black.. They are silky white or clear-ish. You could make the web from the fishing line, then spray with some sort of glitter paint or swipe the strands with a glue stick and sprinkle with glitter.

If you are going "realistic" that is how I would do it. If you are going for cool or creepy I'd go with the black yarn.

Just buy a halloween spider web and add glitter.
