Craft Idea for a Kindergarden Class

I need a craft idea for my sons kindergarden class. We are doing 3 crafts and roating. We are doing pumpkin bingo, and a water table with water and corn starch mixed so i need a craft project that's easy. The teacher suggested a foam craft but I have found the glue dosen't stick very well.

You can use small pieces of tissue paper to make a sun catcher. We used small paper plates with the center cut out (which is the trickiest part!) for the frame, then put a circle of contact paper over the front of the whole. Let the kids cover the sticky part with tissue pieces. when they're finished, use another contact paper circle on the back. A small hole in the top & a piece of yarn/string and they can hang them up.

What about making halloween necklaces. I just did that with a group of 1st graders and they loved it! I bought a few bags of pony beads and some chording at the craft store. Plus, it's fairly non-messy (minus a few beads on the floor)

On my son's foam craft projects we have always used glue dots. They seem to work very well. For my Son's kindergarten halloween party craft, we had them decorate their own treat bags. We gave them stickers, and google eyes and halloween foam stickers to put all over them. It was quick and easy and they all enjoyed it. Not to mention they then had a bag to put all their party goodies in.

Paper bag puppets, you make hand puppets with paper bags, you could do cats, or pumpkins or whatever. Use construction paper, crayons, paints. Kids like doing that. You might want to pre cut the shapes for the faces or at least show them the shapes and have them try to do it themselves(they look more individual that way)

I have seen the self adhesive foams in Walmart. Also glue dots (they are like double sided tape) work well with foam

Hi H., This is kind of a snack idea, but kids can help make this. Make Witch hands. Get Clear plastic gloves ( not rubber ), the kind they use at deli's. Put candy corn in the finger tips of each finger, fill the rest of the bag with popcorn, tie off glove at the end & put a cheap plastic spider ring on one of the fingers. It's easy to make & the kids can have a snack to take home. Good Luck!

Hi H.,

Styrofoam balls make cute spiders with tooth pics and pipe cleaners....

You could use lunch-size paper bags-stuff w/newspaper, rubber band the top & have students paint or use markers to create a pumpkin (stem at the top) OR pre-cut pumpkins out of contruction paper and various collage materials for the students to create & enjoy. You can check out perpetual preschool for additional ideas or enchanted learning (both online)
