Hotels off Site at Disney

Ok Moms, here is another Disney question.

All of a sudden, spring break is 2 months away and I have made no plans and MUST get away. I'm thinking of just going down to FL and visiting mom for a few days and hitting Orlando for 3 or 4 days. I don't want to bother with staying on site at Disney (did that last year - would rather just have my car and come and go).

So, where have you guys stayed. I don't want anything too expensive. No point really. A pool is fine. Breakfast included would be great.

But, if any of you have stayed at an awesome place with a fun kid pool, let me know. I could be pursuaded to spend a few more bucks if it means a lot of fun.

Thanks!!

What can I do next?

Hampton Inn in Kissimmee - on Calypso Cay Way. I go there for business. It's about $100 a night ($109 for a suite). It's clean, free breakfast, has a pool. Three miles from Disney.

I stayed at the Rosen Inn last time I went. Wasn't so bad at all. Nice pool, between Universals and Disney. The Marriot wasn't so bad either I understand. Stay away from Nicholeodian. Check travelosity when you find one you like because some hotels in Orlando are known for bed bugs yucky. On site in Disney is great though. I prefer the Carribbean Beach, quiet out of the way from most of the crowds of disney but still has a pool and lake view and not really that expensive. Now not saying the Carribbean Yacht club which is magnificent but will cost you bout 1000 a night lol. We have gone quite a bit living in Florida and all so any pointers please feel to ask.

Staybridge Suites Lake Buena Vista . . . great value for the $$$ and includes hot breakfast. It's 5 minutes from the maingate near Downtown Disney, and it's right next door to a Winn Dixie. Lots of restaurants nearby too.

We've stayed there many times, and love the space in the rooms plus the full kitchen. Much more reasonable than anything comparable that I've found within Disney.

We usually stay at one of the downtown Disney hotels.

We like the convenience of the shuttle even we always have our car if we want to go somewhere not Disney related and we love staying close Disney Downtown but they are way cheaper than Disney hotels.

There are many nice hotels down here it really depends on what you want to spend and how far from the maingate you are willing to drive. You will find the best rates on highway 192 (Irlo Bronson Memorial Highway) through Kissimmee, which is about 15 to 20 minutes east or west of the maingate. Or on International Dr which runs north to south from Orlando to Kissimmee.

There are some that offer kitchenettes and some that are like condos and then some that are just the average motel room.
