Hi Moms!
Looking to get my kids (and maybe me too) some sort of hiking type sandal shoe for this summer. Normally we just make it thru the summer with crocs and sandals, but this summer we are taking a big family vacation across country with lots of hiking and such. I was going to just get them a new pair of sneakers (they both are outgrowing their current ones), but I like the idea of them not having to wear socks all the time in these hiking type sandals! but they could wear socks if needed with them right? Anyway, I would love to hear your reviews or Teva, KEEN or any other!!!!

Thank you!

What can I do next?

So What Happened?

Thanks for all the great info! I've found a local place that sells both brands and others and we are headed there after school tomorrow - I'll go with whatever fits/feels best on each kid. thx!

Here is a link to the "style" that I'm looking at.

My family is all about the hiking sandals. I think we've tried just about every brand out there. Keens are my favorite, they're easy to put on, hold their shape perfectly, don't rub feet in the wrong places, and generally last forever. Tevas are good too, but something always seems to be a little off for me - either they're slightly too long, or the stiching rubs on the side of my foot, or whatever.

I have these Keens and think they're the most comfortable shoes ever: http://www.zappos.com/keen-whisper-brindle-regal-orchid?z...

My kids have these: http://www.zappos.com/keen-kids-venice-h2-youth-moonlight...

If you decide to get Keens, all of the styles are great EXCEPT the Sunport. They're plastic - not real Keen material.

We have done lots of Keens and Teva's and both are great. See which ones your kids like and you can't go wrong with either.

My sister is an avid hiker in North Carolina (she loves the mountains). She and all her friends told me Keens were the way to go when I asked what shoes to get for an upcoming trip to Yellowstone. Some mentioned that they can run a little small so give yourself plenty of time to try them on before you need them, especially if you order online.

I just bought my 4 year old Keen "whisper" sandals and we both LOVE them. I love them so much I am going to buy a pair for myself as well!
DD wears her's with or without socks and is comfy either way. The toes are protected and the sandals are water resistant, so she can keep them on in the sprinkler and on the beach.
I usually spend a little more on quality shoes, but have been buying cheap sandals for the past couple of summers, since well, there is not a lot of sandal weather up here... now I think that maybe if she had had better sandals, we would have probably worn them more...

TEVA are my favorites. My feet can breathe. Keen are good but tend to
be warmer. My TEVAs got me across Canada for five weeks last year.
I had very happy feet the whole time!

I love my Tevas. Have never worn Keens so I can't comment.
