Help! 18Mth Old Colors on Walls!

Comet cleaner: Get a cloth wet, put some of the comet on the cloth to make a paste. Rub the area and then wash off the abrasive cleaner with a clean cloth.

That Mr. Clean Magic Eraser works wonders! I used to be a Housekeeper for the Marriott at Desert Ridge and bought one because there were black marks from luggage and what not on the walls and it took that off so well. I mean there were pen marks(don't know how they got on the hall walls...) and other marks and that works great. Now they use them consistently to get the walls clean. I assume since itgot pen off that it should get crayon off. Try it and after its clean if you don' mind painting the wall they make white wall paint that crayon will just wash off from.

The magic eraser workds great but I also use Baking Soda! Just make a paste with a little water and rub it on, the crayon will come off easily. Then wipe clean with a damp dishcloth. Good luck!! :)

MAGIC ERASERS!!!!!!!!I buy these things in bulk. The extra strong ones work the best. They clean walls, doors, floors, paint scuffs off cars, soap scum out of your tub and shower. You don't even need cleanser. Cleans off Crayon, pen, marker,pencil. If all else fails try the Magic Eraser. I could go on but I think you have the idea. With an 18 mo old you'll need them for years. I had a couple of Piccasos myself. Good luck.

As long as your walls can handle it try the Mr. Clean sponge! It worked GREAT but, I had walls that were painted for the ability to clean!! Might have to repaint!

Have you tried the Mr Clean erasers? My daughter is not coloring on the walls yet, but I'm sure it will come in the next year. Mr Clean erasers are great for a number of household items, and they come 2 in a pack.

Sounds like you have a budding mural artist there. Nurture that with an easel and some big paper. Use a magic eraser! It even takes permanent marker off of the wall. Make sure to check a section of your wall first because if you don't have the washable paint, it can take the paint off of your walls. I have heard wd-40 works, too.

Make sure when your child colors on the wall that you redirect him and give him paper to color on. Tell him that, "We only color on paper, we only color on paper." Sounds silly, but works! Say it a few times so he understands. The next time he colors on the wall, say it again. Do not yell, just be firm and gentle.

If you have flat paint on your walls I would suggest painting at least eggshell or semigloss, then when he colors on the walls a wet washcloth takes it off. I have tried magic eraser, water and WD40 when the mural was on the flat paint the builder puts on the walls and it looked way worse than if I left my childs scribbles on the wall.

Mr. Clean White Eraser is FANTASTIC...I'm not sure what I ever did before this product was invented! It will become your new best friend...LOL!

Try WD-40 it works great, spray a bit on the marks and whipe with a rag.

It smells bad and not very person or environmentally friendly, but WD-40 works wonders. I think any oil based product might do though. I think there are washable crayons out on the market now aren't there:)

Magic erasers...if your wall is painted do a little spot first to make sure it doesn't rub off your paint...we used this all the time when my daughter was younger :)

The Magic Erasers were truly magic for us! In fact, I made kind of a big deal about the "magic" part ~ my son was so enthralled he ended up helping me! =)
(the entire length of our hallway was artisticly decorated the full length on both sides while the sitter was with the boys)

Check out the Crayola.com web site. I believe they recommend WD-40, at least for the carpet.

Hi M., I agree with telling them "you only color on paper". Every single time I get the crayons/markers/colored pencils out for the kids, I say this and they are 9 and 6!!! I have no idea what gets it off the wall because my kids have never done that! Good luck to you!

Hee hee! Just had to let you know that I am dealing with the same thing. My daughter steels her big brother's homework pencils and draws on EVERYTHING. She will come find me and say Oh Oh! and point to her latest creation.

Magic eraser is great but I agree with the women who say to keep it away from your kiddos. I saw pictures of a boy who had pretty bad burns from it.
