Has Anyone Used Reiki?

My husband has been through a run of tests over the past 3 years and he has been tested for everything from depression, diabetes, thyroid disorders etc. and all tests have come back negative with doctors having absolutely no answers. He even was diagnosed with bipolar for a while until they realized he did not have that as well. My question is, has anyone used reiki to answer health questions about theirs or their loved ones health issues? We are at a point where we are gonna pay a huge price if my husband does not get better very VERY quickly. We cannot stay afloat financially and with him sick things are difficult for him to hold a job that pays enough to come close to paying our bills and debts. Any experiences with reiki are welcome. I met with someone who does it and she said she may be able to see what the problem is and I wanna know how high I should get my hopes since I'm at wits end.

I have never had reiki. All healing arts have their benefit. It sounds like you and your husband are having a difficult time. Trying to find the solution can take some searching. Have your husband examined by a chiropractor. When a person has any interference to their nervous system (which your husband may have) you just can not function the way you were designed to work. That is no matter what you do. It is kind of like there is static on the telephone line. The message from one house to the other is not completely heard. So there is tension, stress, etc. When that static is removed and the communication is clear, your body understand exactly what you should be doing. I hope you understand that. Here are 2 good websites to review: www.icpa4kids.org, & www.mercola.com.

Has he been checked for allergies? I've been battling with allergies for a long while now and it can run havoc on one's entire body, looking like a lot of other things. They are constantly re-checking my thyroid (which is fine every time) and recommending anti-depressants (which I don't think I actually need) for problems that should mostly go away once my allergies are being managed properly. I'm also getting shots to try and develop my own resistance to them.

I also have to agree with trying Chiropractic - a friend of mine is a chiropractor and has been telling me about all the varieties of things that they can potentially help with. It's pretty amazing what they can do.

Another alternative possibility might be acupuncture. While I'm terrified of needles (allergy shots are a chore, but worth the end result), I have a friend who swears by it. She had a terrible pregnancy and I think she only got through it because of the relief the acupuncture was able to provide her.

Reiki isn't one I have personal experience with either, but my in-laws had visits from a woman who did Reiki for a short while and they did talk about feeling the energy when she was doing the treatment.

I'd seriously consider having an allergy scratch test done too though - there could be something in the house/environment that he's highly allergic to. People react to different allergies in different ways.

Good luck!

No reiki experiences here, but I've tried some alternative therapies for my persistent migraines. Chiropractic only made things worse for me. I've had some really good recent results from acupunture, though. I go to a place in Westmont and I know that they are known for treating a wide variety of medical conditions there. They also have offices in Chicago, Morthridge, and . . . . somewhere else I can't remember. (www.liferising.com) I think that looking into alternative therapies sounds like a good road for you to go - you just have to find what you're comfortable with and what will meet your needs. I wish you luck in finding what works.

Has your husband been evaluated for Chronic Fatigue Syndrome? It seems the road you have traveled is similar to one my friend traveled before the diagnosis. Many physician's do not have the skills or inclination to address this specific illness. There are CFS support groups available in the area.

Also, has your husband had a saliva test to identify his hormone, nutritional, and physiological levels of functioning? Many of the symptoms you are describing can also be related to these levels and most physician's are not trained to use this methodology. Dr. Vesna Skul (Vesna taught at Rush Medical School for many years) in Lincoln Park and Dr. Hal Stein in Northbrook (Hal is a chiropractor and a Rush Medical School trained physician). Both are holistic and use saliva testing to look at the complete body.

After years of study and using the saliva tests from both practitioners, I found a company whose new product delivery system, a gel formate, impressed me so much I became a distributor for them (Agel). I am no longer tired and have the energy needed to balance children, job, my own fitness, and my new business.

Please let me know if I can be of assistance to you.

I have had reiki done several times and find it to be a wonderful experiance! Can i tell you that it will fix all your problems? No! i can't, but i can tell you its worth a try. If your husband is sceptical and just lies there thinking of all the other things he could be doing or goes into the session telling himself that it will never work then it probably won't! I believe an open mind is whats needed before he begins. I always come out feeling rtelaxed, refreshed and believing i can tackle anything. I have never had a session because i have been ill but i have had them foe emotional and stress problems and it has done me the power of good. I have also tried crystal healing which again is a truly amazing experiance and i have been known to come out of that in tears. Not in a bad way but because i must have had so much pent up stress that i was holding on too. Anway if your husband is up for it then it seems like its worth a shot! I hope things start to change for you.

I have not used reiki, and don't know much about it. I have a wonderful chiropractor in Frankfort and he does accupuncture, nutritional consulting, etc. He also does a wonderful detox program that may help. Depending on your husbands symptoms, a good detox program may be the trick. I only started going to him in April, and never used a chiropractor before. But now I am a believer! He really focuses on healing the body as a whole from the inside out. I haven't tried the detox yet, but want to. He occassionally does free seminars about the detox program and can send you free information and DVD in the mail for more info. His website is: www.holisticfrankfort.com Dr. Jon Heyer is his name, ###-###-####. Good luck, I hope your husband gets well soon!

Hi N.,

I am a reiki master as is my mother & would absolutely love to help you & your husband. I am a firm believer in the healing that reiki can & does do! I can do it hands on or long distance (I don't have to be there with him to do this on him), whichever is better for you. Let me know if you'd like to set up a time/day to get together & talk about it - or feel free to call me on my cell at ###-###-####. I am going out of town tomorrow for about 10 days, but if you'd like I can also give you my mom's number & she could help you in my absence. She is a phenomenal healer & really believes (as I do) that this is one of the many ways you can heal through positive energies. Please let me know what I can do to help -

Take care
J.

I have never done reiki, but I do know family and friends who have and swear by it! My sister has reiki done when she throws her back out and it does seem to work. I do know a person who does reiki in Highland, In. I would give it a try, maybe it will help in finding out what is wrong with your husband. Hope he's feeling better soon! Let me know how it works out.

God's Blessings
