Has Anyone Tried 'Alli'?

Has anyone tried the new FDA approved diet pill 'Alli' yet? I was wondering how bad the side effects were. That's the part that scares me! Has it been worth the $50-%60 you paid for it? Any comments if you have taken it would be appreciated. Thanks.

Hey A.,

I'm a pharmacist.....and have read-up on Alli. I'm going to give it to u straight. I wouldn't take the medication if they paid me too. Seriously. The way it works is it blocks fat absorption in the lower intestine. When that happens the horrible side effects occur.....unannounced diahrrea, wet gas...etc. Very disgusting. The idea is to get u to keep the fat % in ur diet to less than 30%. Supposedly the horrible side effects won't occur if u do that. The point is though, if u follow a healthy diet, and keep ur fat intake to 30%, ur going to lose weight anyway. So why purchase the drug and take the chance?

I work with helping people with diet and weightloss (at no charge) and if u'd like some tips i'd be happy to help. I'm very diet conscious and have two healthy children, whose diets i watch closely too!

Also, in a study, it was shown to give cancerous lesions on the intestines of mice. I haven't read the study, and don't know the details, but this is what i was told.

Hope this helps.....have a great day!

After reviewing the product I think I want to give it a try. I am anxious to see what responces you get. Have you been to alli.com you can read posts from people who have tried it, are on it etc. I know the "leaky" thing is yuck - but it would kind of motivate me to eat right, sad that we need that kind of motivation sometimes. Like anything else it's not for everyone. And I think the point is to not try it until you are ready to commit to eating right, and when you do you don't get the adverse side effects. Be sure to let us know what you decide and best wishes in your quest for thin-ness!Costco has it for 65.00 for 190 pills I think.

Oh yes I have tried it. Had to stop taking it. The side effects were just too much for me. I was in the bathroom ALL the time and even had accidents. If I had gas, it wasn't just air if you get my drift. I hope this information helps! Take care, M.

I haven't tried it, but I did alot of research on in b/c I wanted to. It said one of the side effects is it can give you "leaky gas". That alone is not worth it to me!!

I tried it when it was prescription, and it was nasty!! It does help you lose alot of weight, especially if you are eating fatty foods. You DO get oily leaks that just come out without feeling it! For me, I would not try it again, I now need to lose 10-15 pounds and would rather take phentermine or adipex than alli!!

A.- I was wondering the same thing!! I'd love to try it but I'm scared. My sister said there are warnings on it about how you shouldn't wear light-colored pants when taking it in case of accidents!!! I was like, whoa!! My boys might not be the only ones in diapers! I'd also love to hear if anyone's tried it...
