My 8 year old is getting a new double bed and I am wondering if anyone out there has purchased an Ikea mattress. Good or bad experiences? I love shopping there and have several pieces of furniture that I love, but I'm just not sure about the mattresses. Any input would be appreciated! Thanks!

Love our twin size for my daughter. It i way more comfy than the regular (spring) one that we got. The aren't as tall though so make sure it wil fit if you have a bunk bed with side rails etc.

If you do decide on Ikea, check the measurements first. European sizes are slightly different and I don't know if Ikea there goes by european sizes or uses the American ones, but you don't want to get the mattress home and find out that the sheets you have won't fit because the mattress is slightly wider or longer. I know the crib we were looking at was not the standard size so we ended up changing our minds at the last minute because we wouldn't be able to just buy any crib set we liked. It would have had to have been one for IKEA or it wouldn't fit. Their regular mattresses might be different, but I'd check first!

Yes...for kids, they are great. I have two on my 5 year old boy's bunk bed and one for my daughter's white iron rod bed. They have worked out great. They are all twin size beds.

We got a natural latex mattress from Ikea. At first I didn't think I would like it because it felt so firm. But I actually sleep pretty well on it, so I can't complain. Still, it is very firm. I would like to get a new organic mattress sometime soon that you can customize.

love it...we got one for my dd's bed and I've fallen asleep on the bed with her several times. its very comfortable it amazes me how a compact mattress like that can be so comfortable but it is. We've had several spills and things happen on the mattress and it has come clean very well too.
I've been trying to convince my husband that a mattress from Ikea is an option we should look into. :)
