Has Anyone Ever Stayed at a Cabin at Disney World Wilderness Lodge?

Hi S.. If you would like to read some reviews about the cabin, you can go to www.allearsnet.com. It is a great website for anyone planning to go to Disney World and staying on or off property.

I have never stayed at the cabins, but I have stayed at the Wilderness Lodge next door and I can tell you that if you are depending on the boat transportation to take you to most places, you really need to schedule your time wisely. The boat ride from resort to resort (the Contemporary to pick up the monorail) or to go to the Magic Kingdom, can take up to 1/2 hour. So, depending on the age of your children, staying somewhere to closer transportation may be worth it - especially if you have young ones that will need naps. We have taken toddlers and preschoolers on different trips. When with Toddlers we stayed at a monorail resort. It was fabulous to be so close and to come back at any time to rest. With the preschoolers was at the Wilderness Lodge. Though they could handle the boat ride - some times the walk from the boat launch to our room seemed VERY far for their little legs.

My sister and I took our kids to Disney and stayed in a cabin. We LOVED it and we have both stayed in other properties at Disney. It was much roomier, you could make your own breakfast (or lunch or supper). If you do it, I suggest you also rent a golf cart for the week. Things are very spread out there, and it's nice to have a golf cart to get down to the water so you can take a boat to the TTC (ticket and transportation center, or Magic Kingdom). The best thing about the golf cart is that we would go on rides at night to look at people's RVs (they're near there there) and we would see rabbits, deer, armadillos and other wildlife. I think my kids enjoyed that more than the parks! Whatever you do, have fun!

We stayed at the motel area. It was convenient and nice. I hear it a wonderful site. When I took my kids age 5-7 , they were on visual overload and dont remember much.

I have been inside one, and could live in it. It is very nice, and it is like a small house. You will find plenty of activities on, and off property. I have seen families with newborn babies here, and I know they are here for themselves. The babies are used as an excuse for the young at hearts to come here, and have a wonderful time. I suggest that you schedule three evenings per week to do adult activities, and hire a sitter to come to the cabin. You can go out to dinner, go shopping, or on scary rides without any interruptions. Professional childcare provider with excellent references, background checks, and cheaper rate. Your children do not have to be potty trained, and you come back when you feel like it.
