Which Disney World Deluxe Resort and Why? June 2012 - Tulsa,OK
My friends want to stay on site. We need two seperate rooms that have king bed plus bed for two kids each. One is in a wheelchair so the awesome treehouse villas are out.
PS Love to Read, that sounds perfect and we might be able to all fit.

I would say the Contemporary, Polynesian or the Grand Floridian. They are on the monarail system to the Magic Kingdom and Epcot. This makes is a lot easier to get around. All the resorts offer buses to all the Disney parks and Downtown Disney. And all the resorts and buses will offer wheelchair assistance. So you can really stay at any of them.

Old Key West. Actually we just got home from our 4th trip from there over the years and we always stay at Old Key West.
Our kids are older, so we got a 2 bedroom suite. One is the 'master' with a king size bed and full bath. The second is a 2-queen bed with full bathroom as well. Then there is a fold out, maybe queen, sofa bed AND a fold out twin chair in the living room.
There is a full kitchen so we at breakfast in our room and were able to have snacks in the evening. Also, especially with little kids, since it is on property you can go back during the day for a nap or even lunch.
Each unit also has a washer and dryer so you can pack a little lighter and wash clothes if you want.
Have fun!

We've been at least 8 times and we stay no where expect the Polynesian. LOVE that place.. It is on the monorail line, you can also use the boat taxi to/from MK.
I could stay there and never go to any park. We've stayed in the garden rooom areas all the way up to the Conceirge building. Concerige was favorite, you get a lot of perks in Conceirge. It is the priciest but we love it.

We just got back from staying at the Contemporary. It is within walking distance to Magic Kingdom and is on the monorail.

We've stayed in villas at Bay Lake Tower and Wilderness Lodge, both fantastic. Bay Lake is attached to the Contemporary so you are right on the monorail and walking distance to Magic Kingdom. Wilderness Lodge requires using the WDW Bus transit, so there are short waits for the right bus arrive and you take a short boat ride to Magic Kingdom. I preferred staying on the monorail, even if you miss your stop, it moves around the resorts quite quickly. We like staying at the villa's because you have a separate bedroom for the adults and the kitchens offer a quick and inexpensive way to prepare meals. Most even come equipped with washer/dryers so you can wash those stinky clothes before you pack them for the trip home.

Not sure if price is an object if you're looking at deluxes - but if it's not, my first choice would be the bay lake tower villas, which is at the contemporary.

I've not stayed at the Polynesian, but I do know for sure it's gorgeous. The only time we stayed on-site it was in Shades of Green right across the street from the Polynesian, but it's a military-only resort so you'd need ID to stay at that one.
