I did this in highschool (many years ago) and we were Alice in Wonderland (any extra people were cards). Another group did it and was The Wizard of Oz (the extra people were munchkins). They could also be the cast of Friends with the extra guy being the odd Janitor upstairs (Creepy Naked Guy might be a little too adult). It was fun. Good luck.

Here are a few ideas:
50's theme(Grease, for example, pink ladies & T-birds)
One could be the President, everyone else is Secret Service
Verizon Network (one is the main guy, "can you hear me now", and everyone else has little laptops that could be made of cardboard, etc)
Star Wars

They have an entire section on group costumes. People post to this website and tell how they made the costumes. Most of the ideas are pretty economical. Good luck!

The number 7 calls to mind The Seven Dwarfs. Not sure what they'd wear, however, unless you got the Disney book version of Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs to look at, vests, slouchy tights, weird caps, tools on the belt, peasant shirts, etc.

At a previous employer, we dressed up every Halloween. We were computer bugs (dressed as different bugs, spiders, etc), we were '60 Hippies, we were Pink Ladies and T-Birds, we were fire fighters (made a cardboard fire truck and one of the guys was the dog). Hope these help.

Batman, Robin, Joker, The Penguin, The Riddler, Catwoman, Poison Ivy, and...... it's been so long since I've seen the movies I can't remember anymore. I'm sure the kids would remember more of the characters.

I love the idea of the 7 colors of the rainbow. That has my vote! Most kids this age love to dress up. Pirates of the Caribbean, Lord of the Rings, Harry Potter - all these ideas have merit. Ask them and see what ideas they like.
Good luck and have fun with it!

They could be the Cullen family from the Twilight series . . . white face/hands and jazzy clothes. Whoever is Edward would need brown hair with light colored highlights. Bella has long brown hair, etc., etc. Actually, there are more Cullens than you have people but they could pick and choose who they wanted to portray.
If they are into Harry Potter, they could portray various characters from that book series.
They could dress as zombies, mummies, etc. Get creative with the costumes making some more girly (bows, lace, etc.) and boys more masculine (football jersey, etc.).

My daughter in high school is dressing up this year as Marie Antoniette...she found a very cute costume at Wal-Mart for $35 (but I think it's called Lady of Versailles). They have a lot of different types of them though. Maybe consider the group dressing up in the Victorian era theme...fancy, opulent, white powdered faces and wigs! Good luck!

Hi T.,
I never would have thought of Scooby Doo for a senior in high school! Scooby Doo is for a small child.
The first person that comes to mind for your daughter to dress up as is Miley Cirus. Another popular young celebrity is Taylor Swift. It doesn't have to be famous people, of course, but I would think a high school senior would rather dress up as a famous person as opposed to a cartoon character. Or maybe I'm wrong. It's been a while since I've been in high school. If your daughter wants to dress up as a cartoon character, then good for her (as well as you!) It means you haven't lost your baby yet! Good luck, and I hope your daughter has a great Halloween!

The colors of the rainbow and the 7th could be black or white. A group of guys did this in college and it was a hit!
Or the Brady Bunch and the 7th could go as either the dog or that little blonde kid from next door.

Sounds like fun! You've gotten a lot of great ideas. You could also do Charlie and the Chocolate Factory (Willy Wonka, Augustus, Charlie, Mike, Veruca Salt, Veronica and of course an oompa loompa). :)
