My daughter is 2 and her hair is getting too long to deal with. I want to cut it into a cute bob but all of the salons that cater to kids seem crappy. The employees seem like the don't want to be there and that is not the type of person that I want doing my daughter's first haircut. Any suggestions are GREATLY appreciated!

Thanks!!!

So What Happened?

So we ended up going to Shortcuts at International Plaza because this morning when I was washing her hair she refused to let me rinse it because she hates even a drop of water on her face, and her hair was down to her elbows, so it's not easy to rinse in the first place. Shanna (only there Sundays and Mondays) did an AWESOME job! Thank you so much for all of the suggestion though :)

I know this isn't for "regular" hair salon visits, but for her very first haircut (or anytime you want it to be fun/special) there is a Barber Shop in the Magic Kingdom that does both girls and boys... we took our 3 yr old girl there for her very first cut and do....it was amazing. She sat way up high in an elevated salon chair and was given toys to play with and stickers all over her of Mickey. They cut her hair, then put it up in a cute pony with all sorts of glitter and pixie dust! And...the best part is that all cuts at the shop are $7.50 (plus tip of course)...yes, $7.50!!! She also saved her hair in some tissue and sealed it with a Disney sticker AND she got a set of Mickey ears that has embroiderd on the back "My First Haircut". All of this is INCLUDED for the $7.50. If it is not her 1st haircut (boy or girl) then you just don't take the Mickey ears. I thought it was amazing and she had a blast. We wil keep her hair trimmed locally now, probably at my salon by my hairdresser, but whenever we go back to Disney we will most definately go there again and again! Friends tell me the same thing!

Best wishes for a happy first cut! Take lots of pictures!

It does not have to be a kids salon. There are lots of great salons out there with stylist that love children and would love to cut their hair (especially their first one). Where do you live? I live in Seminole and I know my stylist is good with kids and cuts kids hair a lot!

Why not bring her where you get your hair cut? he will feel special because she is going to Mommy's hairdresser and you will know and trust the person cutting her hair. Good Luck.
