There is a GREAT Italian place at Rufe Snow and Hightower. It's called Marco's Italian Ristorante. It is my favorite date place!!
It is a very peaceful environment, great prices (especially lunch), and you can bring your own wine. Everything is so delicious from the house salad dressing down to the Tiramisu.

If anyone else knows of great places to eat that are NOT chains, please respond!!

What can I do next?

Villa Dianna is a little family-owned restaurant in south Arlington, at Sublett and Matlock. Very friendly service, Nice atmosphere, delicious food made to order and served in generous portions. Bring your own wine.

Hi E.! I have the best restaurant in mind for you! Sardine's Italiano Restaurant located on University Dr (2 blocks from Camp Bowie) in the cultural district of Fort Worth is known for having a great romantic atmosphere. Patrons eat by candle-light and listen to live Jazz music (on the weekend). They have a full bar and the food is to die for!! But the best part about this restaurant is that my husband is the General Manager!! (I'm not bias-ha, ha) Anyways, I highly recommend this place!

If you like steaks and romantic atmosphere, then try Kirby's.
It is on the access road of 114 and Southlake Blvd. They have live jazz on the weekends and an area where you can sit on couches and just have drinks and relax.Wonderful!!!

We love Mexican food! Our favorite Mexican food is at Benito's (non-chain) on Magnolia near downtown. It is more like traditional Mexican food (rather than Tex-Mex) and it is family friendly. The prices are great too.

We have wondered about Marco's. Thanks for the recommendation. We will definitely try it now.

I absolutley love Maharajah's over in the Hulen area. If you go, you MUST get their chicken tikka masala (the one with the orange sauce) and their lamb samosa. The atmosphere isn't that romantic, but the lighting is dim and peaceful. The food is so good, do the experiance of eating something new is very fun together.
