Don't use Home Depot - they are overpriced and SLOW installation time.

Shop around. There is a great granite yard in Fort worth with competive prices. I didn't save the link - but do a web search.

Also I ended up using this one http://www.cratmas.com/index.htm

They were super competitive - and FAST - they brought the sample of the granite I was interested in to my house - measured and installed the next day - for a great price!!

I love my granite.

Graysonstone in Denton is great. I know it is a bit far from you. Just do NOT use Lowe's or Home Depot... you can get a much better deal.

I work for a renovation company and we have used Arlington Marble - talk to Gene or Chris at ###-###-#### and we also use Tile, Marble and Granite works - talk to Mayra at ###-###-####. They can talk to you about installation and you can get them to assist you with purchasing granite and they both have installers on staff.

We got granite countertops last year from Surplus Floors Outlet (www.sfo.com I think). It was very reasonable and cheaper than previous estimates I had received. They came out quickly and did all the measurements. Then we met the installer at the granite yard b/c we didn't want to pick our granite from a 4x4 inch square and they installed within a week. Wasn't the quickest, but they had to get it all cut to size, etc. They did a great job installing and it looks beautiful!

If you really want to save money, you can resurface your countertops to resemble granite. My sister and her husband did this to their house recently and we're going to do it to ours. It's $50 for enough product to cover 16 feet of counter. The website has more information.

Look up www.gianigranite.com.

I had never heard of this until I went to their house Sunday. It looks absolutely stunning! Especially with their stainless appliances.
