I am looking for a good place to get my 2 year old son's hair cut in St. Mary's County. We had a really bad experience at a salon today and will not go back.

What can I do next?

I know you stipulated St. Mary's county, but we know a place just across the river on Solomons Island. They are called Julia and Company. (410) 394- 1222. Anyone Julia has ever hired are very nice people. None of us have gone to the new gal there, but Julia is quite personable, sensitive and kind. If interested, check the price for your toddler - all my children are older. The price may be more, but you will know who is always going to be there unlike Hair Cuttery or Clips. Good luck, I remember how sensitive my son was at that age about getting his hair cut. We finally went to a barber who had toys on the shelve for children to play with and then gave each child a certificate for getting his first hair cut and a lolly pop to boot. But sorry, that was in another state.

I LOVE the place next to K-mart off of 235. Kathleen or Kerri are both really great. We've been taking my son(almsot 5) here for almost 3yrs now. My son is scared of the buzzers and they do all scissor cuts for him. He loves going and they do a nice job. They've slowly been working him up to use the buzzers to at least do his sideburns and this last week we went and he let them do it. 3 of the girls (all whohave cut his hair in the past) and I threw like a whole mini party for him!

Oh I should add that when we first started taking him he didn't like going at all... His first cut in there took like an hour and the girl was soooooo patient with him!!

We also go to MJ's in the Park. It doesn't look like the best place from the outside, but Crystal does an AMAZING job - she is the only one we will use there. My youngest son threw up during his first hair cut at JCPenney, but LOVES going there because of the TVs/movies, and working car chair. Plus they have a treasure chest to pick toys from when you leave. If you try it, you will never take him anywhere else!!

We go to MJ's right on great mills road in lexington park across the street from arby's and next to bombay indian restaurant. It is a barber shop. They have a kids section in the back (you can't see it from the road) They have car seats and TV's for every seat and a working car chair. They are quick and really good. It costs $10 for a boy's haircut. It looks a little ghetto from the outside, but my son is like a zombie watching diego while they cut his hair. I have yet to find a better place.

Oh and they have certificates, lollipops, and balloons too, if you want them.
