Good Female Family Doc.

I'm not sure where you live but I like Dr. Helen Zhao at Deer Valley Medical for family practice. She's very personable and takes the time to listen to what you're saying. She has a bit of Chinese flair when she speaks but I haven't had any trouble understanding her so far. The office staff is also great and I never have a problem getting an appointment or callback. Dr. Bart Eng (same office) is also great. (They have 3 other male doctors but I'm not familiar with them.)

I second Kate E. on Desert West OB/GYN. I have seen Dr. Nina Wilkey for 7 years and she's very knowledgeable and thorough. My only issue with Desert West is that sometimes you wait in the exam room for a long time (sometimes 30 mins) before you're seen however, I'm willing to wait to see a good doc.

I'm with you on finding a new Dr. You have to be comfortable enough with you Dr. to talk about whats going on. A Dr. with a good bedside moanor is very important. I just left my Dr.s office becuse I relocated and he was good but the staff was horrible! So I'm on the look out for a new Dr. too. But the OBGYN's at Desert West OBGYN are great. Dr. Apigo is leaving the practice and moving down town. And Dr. Brecky is also leaving. I don't know where she is going. They are both amazing female Dr.s. I don't know where you live but Dr. Apigo is worth looking into. She is my OBGYN and I love her. All the Dr.s at that practice are great and mostly women. The only one I had a difficult time with was Dr. DeSalvo. He was the Dr. who delivered my first child. Anyway I sort of rambling on here and I don't really have an answer for your question. Sorry, Good luck and most important trust you gut. If the Dr. doesn't feel right to you keep looking.

I would keep your doctor and seek a female OBGYN

Hi - I don't know what part of town you live in, but I LOVE my doctor. Dr. Melinda Atienza - she is located around the new Scottsdale Healthcare Hospital - around Thompson Peak Parkway and the 101. Thompson Peak Family Care is the name of the practice and you can google them and get their site. She is just wonderful!
