I am having a donut themed birthday party for my 3 year old daughter. Alot of her friends are gluten free. There are alot of recipes and mixes out there. Does anyone recommend a speicifc mix? I've never made donuts before so even if you just have a donut tip that would be great!

thanks
J.

Is the Delicious-N-Fit bakery in Plano still around? It may be easier to have them just whip up a batch.

Check the frozen-food section at the grocery store. I don't remember the brand, but there are some good ones that you just cook - you won't have to make them up yourself.

If you don't want to make them Kinnikinnick GF donuts are delicious!!!! You can find them at Whole Foods. I have never made donuts so I cannot help you with a recipe but you could check Elena's Pantry. Her recipes are usually really good.

I've never made them myself but, as Amanda L. mentioned, there are some very good ones at Whole Foods or even regular grocery stores (check the frozen baked goods).

Gluten free cooking is tricky & can be pricey. I would check Whole Foods or a health food store to see what they have.

I agree with the freezer section at Whole Foods or a similar store. I have a local health food store I frequent for items such as this. They are YUMMY!

Good luck to you!

If you can't find what you need and want my almond flour old fashioned donut recipe, let me know. It is gluten-free and easy to make. It's good as long as none of the kids has a nut allergy. My daughter is allergic to peanuts and all tree nuts except almonds so I buy my almonds from a dedicated facility that does not shell any other nuts.

All Gluten Free products are pricey. As already stated, gluten free cooking is very difficult. I have a friend whose son is gluten free. She ALWAYS calls ahead to a host and finds out what they are having (cupcakes, pizza, donuts, etc). She then sends his version of the food items with him. She buys his donuts at Whole Foods and Sprouts. Not sure how many varieties they have. He gets the chocolate ones. Again, they are expensive.
