My brother recently got engaged to a wonderful woman, who I have met twice but don't know well (we live on opposite sides of the country). She's in her early 30s and is pretty fashionable. I know she likes wine, is a nurse, has a cat, and owns her own home. I'm absolutely stumped for Christmas gift ideas for her. I'd like to spend about $60 and can buy anything except a bracelet or gift cards.
What would you ladies in your early 30s want from a future sister-in-law for Christmas? Something for your house? Jewelery? A gift basket? Help!
I would simply get them a joint gift. Something that would be nice, like maybe a night at a bed and breakfast in a wine tasting area so they could have some nice romance and taste some yummy wine.

What about a group of photos of your brother as a child? It might be a nice way to welcome her into your family. Or did your brother have a favorite Christmas book or movie or tradition that he always insisted on? Maybe he had some favorite foods that your grandmother made, for example, and perhaps you could give her the recipes, in a nice binder?
Love Elena B's ideas!! I'm a scrapbooker so I was going to suggest some sort of book with photos of your brother when he was small. She'd love that.
I love most candles or Scentsy products. But you may want to find out from your brother which scents she does not like!
I always love baskets - so maybe one with different things such as a personalized tote (with her soon to be last name), chocolates, wine, etc. Guess if you are going this route you may just want to order from a website and get a wine gift set or chocolate gift set.

outfit. You can buy these at Target or Forever 21. Think cool necklace.)
For her home: you could do a cool welcome mat, wine glasses, nice bottle of wine, set of 6 small appetizer plates so he can have a party.
Personally I think I like the jewelry idea you had best. You can buy the cool necklaces I mentioned or a nice silver link bracelet w/a charm or a small thin inexpensive gold chain bracelet (but I think more people wear silver these days & costume jewelry).

No jewelery! You don't know her style! Gift basket is good as long as it's a high end one like Harry and David. Wine is also great, I love the idea of three different bottles. Don't try to be clever and get her anything to do with nursing or cats. Something she can consume is the best present.

How about a gift that she could use to entertain friends. Maybe a glass bowl for fruit (check Pottery Barn?) or serving pieces for cheese to go with wine.
A few different bottles of wine is what I would get her. Ask your brother for some ideas too. Or run some ideas by him.
