Gift for 7 Year Old Boy

My 7 & 8 year old love WEBKINS. The newer ones are the turtle & penguin.

There are books you can get online where you give her kid's name and hometown and three friends and they include her son's name and everything else into the story. I got these for my girls for Christmas and they were great! I did a search online, I can't remember the company, but if you're interested I can look in one of their books and let you know if you don't find anything online.

My son loves easy word searches - can find them at Barnes and Noble in the kids department. Also, there are some great science kits out there, most of them are super messy but kids love them. If he is a builder, Bionicles are fun. My son has a glow in the dark nerf basketball hoop that he loves.

It's been advertised on TV, how much a younger child loves a gift card. They feel like they have their own money and enjoy shopping for just what they want.

I have to agree, my son is 7 and really into building things.

Two words for you. GIFT CARD. This way they can get what they want and not have to worry bought it. and it is easy to mail. I have a 6 year old who is almost 7 and she absolutely loves getting gift cards.

My gradson in almost 7 and anything Pokemon is a big hit. They have several movies and also trading cards either would be easy to mail.

Board Games are a huge hit at my house! Monopoly Jr., Clue Jr., etc... and easy to mail too...my 8 & 5 yr old love getting them, and are always really excited to start playing them!

Try starting him on a hobby. Coin collecting. He can read about the coins, and this will set up future gifts that are both investment ( My coin collection paid for a year of college) portable, low mess, and a alternative to just another toy. A gift is a gift, a hobby is for a lifetime. When buying coins stay away from those offers on TV.

My sons loved getting basic building supplies for forts. Duck tape, and the boxes the presents came in were played with long after the presents were forgotten.

Hello, I have an 8 year old boy and a 7 year old boy who love Pokemon cards, bionicles, and their Nintendo Ds Lites. Do you know if your friends son has a Nintendo DS Lite game system? They have some really good games for it. Brainage and Planet Puzzle League are two good puzzle games to excite the brain and thinking. The also like the Pokemon games and zoo tycoon where the build their own zoo. If not, my boys are also into board games: Their faves are Spongebob monopoly, Sorry, Yahtzee, and Parcheesi. My 8 year old is really into Webkinz also, but my 7 year old doesn't care much for them. They like transformers as well at their age. They enjoy legos and hot wheels but are growing out of them pretty much nowadays. Another idea could be getting him a subscribtion to HIGHLIGHTS Magazine for kids. My dad did that for the boys last Christmas and they look forward to receiving them in the mail each month. Good luck! ~T.

My boys all love Bionicles. Lego sets are good, but Bionicles get much more play time with them. My boys are 11, 8 and 6. My youngest will be 7 at the end of next month. He tends to get frustrated with the Bionicles, but my 11 and 8 year old have been playing with them since they were 5. They also like game stop gift cards so they can buy games for their Nintendo DS or Gameboy's. Other idea's are the Sigma 6 GI Joe Action Figures, Mega Blocks Dragon Crystal Wars and of course Transformers.

I know that they have package of hot wheels cars at Walmart they would be easy to mail. Every little boy loves hot wheels. Or maybe you could send him a movie like Transformers.
My daughter is 8 and she gets invited to some parties from the boys at thier school. I always asked the parents what would be a good gift. They always suggested the hot wheels hope this is helpful.

my nieces and nephew are around this age and they like gift cards. They like the fact that they can pick out whatever they want and pay for it themselves.

I would suggest ordering the game Blockus. The game is Mensa approved. If you order it off Amazon.com you can have it shipped directly to him. I can't think of anything a 7 yr old would like better than getting his own package mailed to him directly!

Lego Mission to Mars or Star Wars kits are a huge hit with my son and have been for quite awhile. That's all we get for the birthday gifts when he's invited to parties. The boys love them.

A subscription to National Geographic Kids magazine would be really neat for him. Kids LOVE getting mail, and this magazine has lots of interesting & funny facts and pictures about animals and people. I have a friend whose son got this magazine when he was 9 or 10, and he loved it. My daughter is 5 and she loves it too. I think it would be perfect for a 7-yo boy.

Believe it or not I have found that all kids about this age like to scrap book and make cards. If he is really smart then he may like fun scissors and punches as well as some scrap booking stuff/card making. Check out the dollar stores, wal-mart and hobby lobby. He can journal and record special events in a small personalized scrap book, and this may help him through his parents "D". Hope this helps...

The large inflatable bouncey balls are always a big hit! There are baseballs, basketballs and footballs that are easy to mail and he can just blow it up and they are huge. You can find them at Wal-Mart. Good luck!!

The smaller lego kits that you can build more detailed things.
Also science stuff. I got my nephew a kit where he could make bubble gum. They have all types of stuff like that. On those check with Hobby Town all the products are made in the US.

Your definition of easy to mail and mine might be different. If it's in a box that's all box (and not plastic window on a side) to me that makes it easy to mail. Especially with certain of the USPS flat rate boxes now.

My 7 yr old has several things this year that are hits. He rec'd a Webkinz for Christmas (a panda) and then saved his money and bought a new one for himself (a huskie) and he loves them.

The other things that he found were by Playmobil. Pirates!! they take a lot to assemble, but they were so fun.

And of course, Batman action figures. :-)

I'd like to second legos and Blokus! We love both. My son is almost 6 and LOVES both of these. Now, it all depends on the family, but we try to stay away from the Bionnicle Legos because they are all about guns and weapons. But, that is something that is totally up to the parents.

There are some wonderful games out there that most people don't know about. Blokus is one that has hit the main stream, but if you'd ever like to check out some really cool games, go to www.boardgamegeek.com There, you can read reviews and find which games win awards and such.

I have found that you can never go wrong with a Lego kit. Both of my boys, now 9 and 13 love Legos and have always been thrilled to get them for gifts. The smarter kids usually play with Legos constantly. If you know that he likes Legos but not sure which kit to buy, they also really like "Land" which is sort of like a big base on which to build a new creation.

What about a Webkinz?

My 7 year old son also loves legos. Usually the smaller sets he can do by himself. He also loves paper airplanes (Klutz has a good book), Webkinz, Wii video games (very expensive), pokemon cards, and magic sets (Melissa and Doug makes a nice wood set).

I have a 7-year old boy. He loves his Webkinz! He also likes anything dealing with Magic or science. What about tokens to Chuckie Cheese or a membership to something like a zoo or the Magic House (I'm not sure where they live, but perhaps there's a museum he enjoys going to). That way he could have some special time with mom or dad.

I got my nephew a board game called "Totally Gross" but he may have been a bit older. He's not very into reading or learning so this was a way to show him that it can be fun. If your nephew is bright it may be even better!

Google it and see if it looks like something he could get into. It's all kinds of facts and figures of nasty things like the speed of snot when you sneeze and things like that. Boys are so into that kind of stuff!
