I would like to freeze some corn on the cob and I have no idea how to do it correctly. I don't know if I should take the husk off or not. I'm not sure if there is something I need to do or not do to the corn to make it come out right. I have zip lock bags and I have the vacuum seal bags that I can use to freeze it. Please, if anyone has any advise I would love to hear it. I have no idea what I'm doing.

I haven't cooked it yet and would like to freeze it raw.

What can I do next?

So What Happened?

Thanks for the help. I think I'm going to clean the corn and vac seal them. I would like to try Katie's idea but am not sure how to get the whole kernel off the cob. When I have cut the corn off the cob I seam to leave some or most of it on the cob. I think this is a great substitute for canned corn but I'm not sure how to get it all off.

My inlaws froze fresh corn on the cob last year and gave us a lot. They shucked it and put it in gallon ziplock bags, then into thier freezer on the garage. It was great last winter. I would put the still frozen cobs in a pot with water to steam and it cooked great.

Take the husks and silk off and par cook it for 7-9 minutes in boiling water. Then immediately put it in a bowl of ice wate to stop it from cooking. Put it in freezer bags or vacuum seal bags (I think you have to dry it before sealing them so the moisture doesn't get into the vacuum channel and messes up the seal). When you are ready to eat it just drop them into boiling water for 5-7 minutes and they will be great.

This is easy and works PERFECT! SO tasty...
9 cups of corn cut off raw
1 cup water
2 T sugar
Mix together and bring to boil (time for 5 min)
Cool...Do NOT drain.
Bag & freeze

We have a freezer full for the winter :) Enjoy!

Did you already cook it? You can do it like you said - in or out of the husk in a freezer bag.

I buy frozen corn on the cob and it comes without the husk. Do you have tupperware -- the special containers good for the freezer????
