Fish Oil Pill????

Yes, I give my daughters fish oil by Nordic Naturals (available at both Whole Foods and Sprouts). It comes in a soft pill form that can be chewed or swallowed whole. My youngest does not like the lemon taste (or any other flavor), so she swallows them whole (takes 2 every morning). They are kind of big and may be a little hard for most kids to swallow whole, but as I said, they can be chewed. I give my older daughter the strawberry flavored oil (1 teaspoon every morning). She never complains about the taste. Our pediatrician says Nordic Naturals brand is more pure and bio-available than the Omega 3 Gummy Vitamins.

I know you have gotten a good number of responses, but I wanted to share what we use. We went looking about a year ago for fish oil pills, liquid, whatever we could get our son to actually take to help lower his cholesterol. He cannot swallow big pills. Anyway, at GNC we were introduced to Omega-3 soft chews. These are orange flavored chewy candy (very much like an orange "starburst" candy). My son LOVES them, and his cholesterol has come down significantly (with diet changes as well).

I am a huge believer in high dose fish oil, but my son can't swallow pills at all. I give him Omegalicious, which is a sour raspberry fish oil/candy - kind of like a sour gummy vitamin type thing. They taste really good. The dose is not even remotely what I would like, but every little bit helps! My son also likes Dr. Sears brand fish oil chews. I am blanking on the name. I have heard good things about Carlsons Very Finest Fish Oil liquid, but it tastes a little fishy.

My son uses the nordic naturals brand which you can find at sprouts/whole foods or central market.
They have a website where you can read about their true authencity and purity which is extremely important.
Don't buy the synthetic one's at the grocery store if that issue is something you are concerned with.
Nordic naturals makes a chewable one (strawberry flavored) and they make a liquid form you can put in their smoothies/juice.

Yes, we have done the liquid in juice (Nordic Naturals is the way to go---no fishy burping). We now do the chewable soft gels and they take them great....actually remind me everyday to take 'fish vitamins'.

No,I have something better. It can be found on amazon.com. It is called Tresomega Lemon Fish Emulsion. It has a great taste. You only need one teaspoon and they will think you are giving them dessert. You can make ice pops with it. Great for the whole family. The adults would take 2 teaspoons.

My son takes Vitamin Store brand. They say they are chewable but they are so absolutely NOT chewable. They are small softgels that he swallows easily.

I have some that we got from the chiropractor. Neither of my kids will take them. It says they are chewable- they are like a glycerin, soft gel pill. Both of my girls spit them out the first time I tried. They are Carlson for Kids, I paid 12.00. I would be glad to send you my full bottle. Good luck!

I have to share that I struggled with fish oil for my kids for years, creating many battles :) Two years ago, my morning routine consisted of a protein shake with a bunch of fruit, and RNA, Lecithin in it. The kids would drink that, plus take Juice Plus, their omega (all three took a different type), and a multivitamin. We spent several years developing this regimen, working with doctors.

Then I added MonaVie and two weeks later, my son's teacher cornerned me and asked me what I was doing with him - his focus was SO much better!
